Depends on where and how you park. Most officers will let you go because you took the effort to keep the roads safe in your own way.

P.S. Quotas are pretty much illegal. No police department in the country has quotas. Many do require their officers to make a certain number of "contacts", but contacts can be anything from writing a ticket to just giving someone a verbal warning. A ticket is a choice the officer can make based on the infraction and/or the attitude shown by the offender. Tickets are discretionary.

I would find a nice big well lit parking lot if I had to take a nap. I was on a jury last year and a woman had been charged for drunken driving because she had pulled off to take a nap. She had been drinking after work but was actually taking a nap. Dont take chances. I have a great respect for law enforcement but not all of them fall in the "good" category.

It depends where you pull over. You can't get a ticket for taking a nap, but you can get a ticket for parking illegally.

This should not be grounds for a ticket. It should be grounds for a big fat "Thank you for helping make our roads safe."
A friend of mine used to deliver huge billboard-type signs across Texas. I used to ride with him. (I didn't have the ability to drive his huge truck. I was a passenger.) We would have to take off at 11:30 PM to make our delivery by 7:00 AM. Nobody ever gave us grief for pulling over to get some rest. Imagine if we had kept on going with zero sleep. There would be alot of dead people on the interstate.

You will not get a ticket if you parked by the roadside properly while getting a nap.

Depends on where you stop. If you pose a hazard to others then you'll likely get a ticket, otherwise not.

yes and it's a catch 22 just like not getting in a car drunk and driving but rather walking drunk (not harming a soul) you can be pulled over and taken to jail.
