I got this email recently from a relative--is it true or just an urban myth?

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse. For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine.

The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.

The caretaker of Lakemba Mosque, the Lebanese Muslim Association, says it is taking no risks, requesting at least 32 police officers to protect the place of worship on Saturday and Sunday.

Association president Tom Zreik said he met police on several occasions to ensure there would be adequate numbers of officers present to defuse problems and arrest troublemakers.

"We are treating this as something that is funny and hilarious but also taking precautions," Mr Zreika said of the bikini march. "Some people may see this as provocation and the last thing that we want is to see anyone being attacked."

My boyfriend was sent a notice to appear for a show cause hearing for a probation violation. The paper did not have a date on it, so when he was to see his PO next, he was going to ask her if they had set a date yet. He never got to see her, because a warrant was issued for failure to show in court and he was arrested. He is now sitting in jail waiting to be transferred to a jail 200 miles away. What can be done in this situation? He always shows up for court and had intended on doing so this time. Also, his violation that he has the hearing for was already taken care of by his PO and now they want to send him in front of the judge 2 months later with one of the charges being a complaint that he was seen intoxicated at a bar but there is no proof it was him. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yesterday I found myself at the bus stop soaking wet because the bus comapanies have made them so vandal proof they serve little purpose. On the station I sat on a cold vandal proof bench and looked at the thick vandal proof waiting office glass. Two shops in the high street had smashed windows and this will reflect in all of our policies next year. I could go on, but my question is. What kind of moron / chav destroys his of her future comforts. Brainless or what !!

there are good police and bad police but all get a bad rep bacause of a few without you crime would be so bad we would have no peace ever epople always complain about police and i always say if someone is breaking in your house or trying to kill you who would you call 911 of course for help from those you claim to hate anyway thank you and God bless you

I have a court date coming up in which I am being charged with drinking in public and being a minor in possession of alcohol. I was just going to plead guilty w/o a lawyer but people have been advising me to get legal advice. What should I do? and what will be the punishment if I plead guilty w/o a lawyer or a grab a lawyer and see what happens?
Also Im trying to get a job in law enforcement ( funny right?) How will this affect my standing, since there will probably be hundreds of other people w/o a record?

I think that the cops use more then the police guide lines meaning uses excessive force no normal cop would never fire a shot 50 times that s too much one cop fire 31 shots one fire 11 they shot sean bell 23 he suppose to get married to his wife. What i think is that it shouldn t had happen the police guide lines is they can t shoot at a car when the car is being use as a weapon and they shouldn t chase after the guy they should call the plain clothes cop that way they know they are cops a lot of people say that the undercover cop didn t identify himself and he say he did. This happen in Jamaica on 94 Av and Liverpool st. The undercover cop could loose their job for it. A lot of people won t rest until justice is done. This surprises a lot of people if the family sue the city i think they wouldget what they ask for. This is crazy most police have common sense.

I am going out with a prominent man in our relatively small community. According to a friend of mine, he was charged with spousal abuse some years ago after he broke his wife's hand in a fight. I have searched all public records and even paid on sites like FBI for any public info on court records, criminal records etc about this charge and come up with nothing about this incident. In fact he has a clean record. If there was in fact an incident and he was charged, is this record permanent or can it be erased somehow by "some powers that be" if he had the right connections? surely a criminal charge can not be erased?

I am planning on creating an adult website. With everyone sueing everyone these days for the silliest of reasons I want protect myself. If you morally against adult websites please don't bother to reply to my question.

I FULLY understand that my website content has to be legal. I do not want to make this a "content" question.

I also know that I can register my website url so that my contact information is not displayed. I can also make sure I don't have a "contact us" page on the website.

How can I make myself "invisible" to lawyers if somebody wants to sue me. Ideally I'd like the lawyer to say to their client
"we cannot find this guy. We do not know which address to serve him".

Also, one level deeper in that what if the authorities force the hosting company or registering companies to divulge my information. How can I prevent getting found out that way ? What about my ip address ?
