Law Enforcement & Police - December 2006

I'm doing this for a project. I tried searching for it on the internet and I've got this book from the school library that doesn't help much. It's a Criminal Manual, 1995. I know there are such laws, but I can't find them. Umm, Canadian law, and the consequences for stealing others' identity, though I'm not sure if this varies from province. Thanks!

An associate wrote me a check to pay back a debt and immediately after writing the check, she called and stopped payment on the check. When I walked into the bank to cash it, I was informed that she had called in and stopped payment. I still have the check. Can I make her make good on the check and how? Can I file charges even though I am an individual and not a merchang?

i own and drive a 1990 Dodge Omni and today i was driveing and the mulffer fell off the car so i stoped and picked it up i called the mulffer shop and they told me they can't work on the car intell Monday and my car is REALLY LOUD so i no i'm going to get stop by the cops sometime this weekend can or will they make me take the car off the read intell i get it fixed that is the only car i have

my local police violate all traffic laws the same ones they enforce strickly in my area. I am not disgruntled I haven't had a traffic violation for 12 years. I feel certain they have been involved in accidents and would like to report on this.

I belive we are paying way to much money for gas on top of that i belive that are insurance is a scam why should you pay for insurance and they dont repair nothing they say its man power but there prices keep climming and what about all the other stuff they keep saying we need higher taxes thats bull think about this more kids come out of school every year including collage right they pay taxes also that a big clime and what about all those loto that they get and they still want more,now they saying that are retirerment we may not get it well all that money i put in i want back then.and lets start with the driver licence come on now i can see to pay a fee but when a guy goes in and has not had a ticket in over 22 years and anouther state puts down on his record that he has a ticket from 22 years ago in a state that he hasent lived in for that many years well you can see that a scam from the motor department and all the laws we have are good but dont you think that the senat steals?

I have a small business, cell phone store to be exact. But recently I have had folks who keep running out with cell phones and other high priced items. I do have security cameras and tape recordings but police take forever comming to the store and by then the criminal is so long gone. How do i protect myself? With a weapon to scare the criminals? Its a small business and I need every dollar I can save to pay back loans. PLease help!!!!

My question is this. What exactly is an undercover or off-duty police officer supposed to do to show they are a cop when arresting or detaining someone. I know if some dude on the street told me to "freeze police" and pulled a gun I would run like mad. I flat out don't trust people, and would never stick around to find out of he was really a cop. How fast do you have to go before you get a speeding ticket...For example if you go 33mph on a 30mph will the officer give you a ticket...I know if you go 55mph on a 30mph you will get a ticket????

attacked was more like it, but the wound is not bad. my brother called the police and filed a report. the dog owner went with me to the doctor to get it checked out. she payed for the cab rides and the copay of the doctor. the police say she is going to get a letter and will have to watch the dog for ten days for erratic behavior. Now here's the thing: this dog has now attacked me AND my brother at this point. unprovoked. when it attacked my brother it didn't break the skin so he didn't take any action, he just chewed the owner out. but the attack on me today broke the skin (but like i said its not a bad wound, it just hurts like B****!! and only bled a little.)

should i take further action with the police report? can i take further action? i believe the owner is not being responsible the the public with a dog that has now attacked TWO people. I don't want to hurt the dog, just make the owner realize she needs to properly handle this dog, and not brush off this situation.
