I recently received a ticket in the mail for running a red light in San Francisco, CA. I honestly think the light was yellow and I'll probably pay the fine, but here's the deal. The fine is $380!!!

Do I have any options here?

Please... I don't want to get into a discussion about the merits of red light tickets and how The Man is just trying to keep me down :)

I'm looking to hear from people that have experience with a similar situation.

What did you do?

TIA,
Aaron

There have been many times that I have needed a police officer, but they always give me some lame excuse on why they cant help me. For example, when I was 16, me and my sister were jumped and beaten up by a 30 yr old woman and man. We went to the police, but all they could say is it was our word against theirs. Here is a second example, my radio was stolen from my car, all they said was to file a police report, they didnt show any interest in trying to patrol my area due to other thefts. Yet another example, things were being stolen from my garage space at my apartment. My outdoor rug, the brakes taken off of my bike, my mail. Are these things not important enough for them? Why do they find it so important to stake out near the side of the road and wait to catch people going 2 miles over the spped limit, not using a turn signal, etc, but cant help a citizen who is being violated by thieves? Where are their priorities? Is meeting a quota more important than protecting citizens?

The highest one sold so far was for $9,000.00 USD...Do you believe this hype?...people getting shot, held at gunpoint, rioting, all over the coveted PS3 gaming console...they're going on ebay average for $2700.00, but it now for $2100.00...its just a little 60 gb mini computer basically...clearly not worth all that cash...what's your take on this issue?...

For instance, many times women who kill their husbands in self defense are tried for murder when there has been a history of domestic violence and even being beaten at the time of the killing. Do you think these women have a right to self defense like anyone else? Or do you think there should be other laws that govern killing in marriage?

Most kids that get ASBO's wear them like a badge of honor. They do very little good. Crime hasn't gone down since the inception of ASBO's. They are a joke. For the non-British out there, ASBO stands for Anti-Social Behavior Order. They were meant to deter crime. They haven't.

I have a video of a sexual assault done IN an US Marine military base; one Marine assaulted other Marine.
If I want to report it using e-mail, how can I do it?
Someone knows the e-mail addresses/websites of Marine “police”, or maybe Navy “police”, or some other military police force or institution that is capable of investigating this issue?
Thank you.
