Do you think maltreat animals is crime?Why or why not? As far as I know,If you maltreat animals or killed cats or dogs in China,nobody can put you into jail.How about U.S? If some body who killed his dogs in the U.S,What will happen next?

It is a crime. Though maybe not as serious as mistreating a human, it's still bad if someone will intentionally hurt a basically defenseless animal. These ppl are the ones who often hurt people next.
*In China dogs and cats can be considered food.*

Well actually its not what we think. Flat out, here in the US it is a crime. In most places I believe its a felony punishable by up to a year in prison but you would have to look it up and Im sure it varies place to place.

domestic animals depend on humans for their life and abusing animals should bring stiffer penalty's. I really don't care one hoot what china does, I do care about what goes on in the US though. Animal abuse is right up there with child abuse, probably worse.
