Son was arrested, pictures prove excessive force was used. He and his attorney have requested a jury trial as the investigation shows the police never spoke to him, never said stop walking, they simply tased him in the chest! He was never told he was under arrest, never read his rights. When I was told he was taken by ambulance to the hospital, I asked which one and was told they would not tell me. I informed the "man in charge" (jerk, cuss, spit) that my son was diabetic and could he please inform the officer with my son, he said "NO". My son's blood sugar was not checked in the ambulance, nor at the ER. The cop punched him in the chest, driving the taser dart so deep that it had to be removed in the ER by numbing his chest and cutting it out. Does anyone know where I can find any information on the training officers receive on when using a taser is warranted? My son was not armed and was given no warning, just bam! darts in the chest, directly over his heart.

Seriously, I keep reading about how horrible the police are. Have you guys ever been victims? Most of the anger I see should be directed at the legal system as a whole not the officers. I know there is the 10% that make all look bad but look at what they have to deal with...

to start off i am a college student in houston, i was visiting another college in "prairie view" for a volley ball tournament... "PV" won and me and a group of friends know about everyone on the team so we stayed and celibrated with them later that night...we were inside their apt. and we had a couple of drinks...well needless to say the campus police showed up and thats when things got interesting i was asked to step outside of the apt by one of the officers and when i did i was arrested for P.I. and even further more i was not read my rights. i was upset because i was not even drunk (it was only 12)...my second question is this what actually constitutes Public Intoxication...because the other student that was arrested was vomiting and didnt really know where he was...while i had only had a few drinks....
