No and a notice of intent by an individual can, in some jurisdictions, be considered a threat, or even extortion. If you are going to sue you should hire an attorney and the attorney will fie a notice of intent which will some times encourage a settlement without a lawsuit.

No, I wouldnt think so. They will know when the papers are served. I dont think you will have much chance proving the hospital caused your childs cerebral palsy . My nephew has cp and there are quite a few things that can cause it. Prenmature birth and poor nutrition during the pregnancy are just two things. Good Luck to you and your child.

You don't have to notifiy the hospital yourself. Your lawyer will file the brief and the hospital administrator will be served by Officers of the court, most probably Sheriff's officers. Good Luck!
