Seriously, I keep reading about how horrible the police are. Have you guys ever been victims? Most of the anger I see should be directed at the legal system as a whole not the officers. I know there is the 10% that make all look bad but look at what they have to deal with...

The answer, put simply, is hypocrisy. I'm in the military and anything I do at work, from surfing the internet to my phone calls, is subject to monitoring, so I'm probably a little more comfortable with it than most, but people don't want to get caught. For my two cents, I think innocence is its own shield. If I'm accused of something I didn't do, I want to be searched and investigated so I'll be vindicated. Too many people want to abuse the right to privacy to keep from getting caught doing something wrong, and its always easy to blame the cops.

I believe the system is in error. but.
The police already selectively enforce the law. Just try driving down a road without seeing a large percentage of people breaking some laws.
With this statement already accepted as fact; when the police decide to 'crack down' on (input your favorite group here) they are technically within the law but not in the spirit of the law. Yes I have been a victim of selective enforcement and yes I did throw a tantrum and call people names but the police could have handled the situation differently and better.

Ignorance.
They have no idea of the job description of an officer. (whom by the way are severly underpaid. What's forgotton is that they have to be educated in the law almost as well as an attorney)
Those who have that mind set should take a ride-along in a patrol car just one night say, in NY, LA Chicago.
That would bring a rude awakening. They can't see all three sides. The victim, the perpetrator and the officer.

I was held in a parking lot with shotguns to my head for stealing my own car.Had driver's license, registration, and insurance all in my name.Proved it was mine. But because some other idiot cop put numbers in data base wrong,Iaid there for two hours handcuffed on the ground.I unlike others think cops generally suck even being a victim{ car stolen and house being broken into} It's a tough job and I wouldn't want to do it but you have to have a certain mentality to be a cop and generally don't like those type of people weather they are a cop or not.saw 6 cops one night lay a guys head open{72 stiches} All because he didn't stop when they told him to.Sounds intrusive to me and more-over a bunch of jerks on a power trip

It's less than 1% that make the force look bad. People don't want the police in their lives unless they are the victims...and especially if they have something to hide.

Its amazing how people continue to bad mouth officers and I am sick of it as well.I respect officers and would not want the job they have. Its always easy for people to sit and judge until they have walked in their shoes.People now a days like to disobey officers then want to scream brutality when they refused to cooperate.Disrespect is the decision of many people today.

People want to feel like they dont have to answer to anybody in life. Then when something happens they want answers right away. They just dont want to be bothered, but they want the police to do their jobs, as long as it doesnt effect them

There is a name for people who think police are the problem instead of the solution.

They are called criminals.

Yeah, it's worse after the crime. Cause they don't help! Not until you get money atleast. Then they're VERY helpful and they even call you sir.
