If I get a traffic violation for running a stop sign in front of a cop and almost hitting him, do i have to have to appear in court or do i have the choice of going to traffic school? I live in Los Angeles, CA. I am also a minor.

If you are say, walking down the street, in a house, or in a car (not driving) Could you be arrested for failing to identify yourself to a police man. Such as if you just did not answer any of his questions, Or just gave him a first name.

In Cincinnati the latest debate is whether to charge this 2 people with a crime or if they were within their rights for shooting these criminals, I want to know what do you think?

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters will announce next month whether he will charge either of the two Cincinnati residents who separately killed an alleged car thief and an alleged store robber.

The robbery suspect shot in the head by the owner of the S&S Deli in Winton Place monday night, died of his wounds.

Police said Gary Eden tried to rob the Winton Road convenience store after hitting the store owner with a soda can.

Charges may also be pending against a Kennedy Heights car owner who shot and killed 14-year-old Quavale Finnell.

The owner claimed the homeless youngster was stealing his Ford Taurus from in front of his home Monday morning when the shots were fired.

My boyfriend was arrested 10/26/06 in NY (Chautauqua County) for an old (2000) warrant out of Middlesex County, New Jersey for a probation violation. They said he is a fugitive. He did not know he was still on probation or he would just have transferred his probation up to NY. Is there a time limit to when he will get an extradtion hearing. And once he gets the hearing does the 30 days start from the hearing or when he got arrested for NJ to come and get him. He takes medication for a mental condition and this whole process is not helping. Any help would be appreciated.

those black straps with a little box on one side that is locked on one of a criminal's ankle. what is it for? is it for house arrest in which you cant go anywhere but in your home? what kind of crime do you have to commit in order to wear them? how long do they have to wear them for? when you commit that crime, do they pick one of the penalties for you like sentence you in jail for a certain amount of time, the ankle thing, or a fine? or it is a combination of all 3 in which you spend a certain amount of time in prison first then you get out and in house arrest? if it is house arrest, then where are all the places you can go? name all the places you are allowed to go.

Okay so I wrote a bad check (and unfortunate on my part- I thought it cleared) for a renewed license back in August. My mail got mixed up (as it always does) with our two neighbors and I just found out I have a court date tomorrow and my license is suspended. I am very scared because I don't want to get arrested. It was for a $34 check. Should I come to court with all the payments ready?

They also said they are going to take my license - how long will I be on suspension? How long does it take to get a license restored. I have no other things against my license - no accumulated points other than a bounced check and now I owe them a total of $160 for the whole process.

If anyone can tell me exactly what will happen - that would be appreciated.

I got my first M.I.P. deferred by going through the "probation deferral program." However, then I got another M.I.P.... it seems that I cannot avoid having this one placed on my record... What does this mean? Will I have a hard time finding a job later in life? I'm a sophomore in college.

I received a ticket in the state of Michigan for running a red light. I denied responsibility because the light was yellow. At my court hearing the video tape which shows whether or not I ran the red light was not shown because the magistrate says I have to request it. Another court date was set and the video tape will be showed, however, the magistrate said they may not have the tape because the incident occurred two months ago (because I travel a lot the court date was scheduled about two months after the incident) If the magistrate does not have the video what are my rights? I do not want it to end up with the police officer giving his story and then with me telling my story and then allowing the magistrate to judge because he will rule in favor of the police officer.
