do you have any stories about being robbed, kidnapped, threatened, or know anyone who has. plz give details on what happened. plz include where it was, when it was, and if the ppl were arrested for what they did.

oh, and was anyone you know murdered?????????????

When - Fall/ Winter 1984
Where - local independant pharmacy (remember those)

One of my two p.t. jobs while in college was doing bookkeeping for this pharmacy. It was a Friday night and back then pharmacies still delivered to customers. We had two teenage boys who worked as counter clerks and did deliveries as needed. Well, being a Friday back then when the lottery was still somewhat new the store was fairly steady for the big weekly game. The delivery boys were both out delivering and the pharmacist asked me if I would work the counter. I was out there all of about 10 minutes when this guy walked in and seemed to do a lot of pacing back and forth along the counter. Sweatshirt hood pulled up tight around his head, sunglasses but it didn't occur to me that he may be a robber. I kept chuckling to myself thinking he needed condoms and didn't want to ask me but may have been killing time waiting for one of the boys to get back. After he paced for awhile I asked him if I could help him and he pulled a steak knife on me and said to give him the register money. I think my first response was "Oh, S---!!" but my second thought was, "Buddy, this is a poor neighborhood go for the lottery money" Pharmacist heard my first response and looked up over his glass partition and asked what the problem was and so I told him. He slowly and very calmly walked from behind his work area toward the robber and myself and told me to move that he would deal with the guy. I was glad to do as I was told and we basically switched locations with me behind the pharmacy area where I made the first call to the police to report an armed robbery in progress. As I was talking to the police the pharmacist was talking to the robber very calmly and asking him questions like did he have a death wish. About that point the pharmacist pulled out a small gun and pointed it to the robber threatening to shoot if he didn't drop the knife and put his hands on his head. Of course the robber was shocked and somewhat put off that the pharmacist had a weapon but kept saying to the pharmacist that he would actually shoot him. At this point I am on my second call to the police to update them and ask where the heck they were. The robber seeing that the cops were not rushing to the store started to try his luck at working his way towards the door. The pharmacist kept the gun pointed at the robber the entore time and told him in no uncertain terms that he had no problem shooting him in the leg or butt if he took any more steps towards the door. They kept having conversation back and forth about the probability of whether or not the pharmacist would actually shoot. Delivery boys returned. I even chimed in pleading with the guy to do what he was told because the pharmacist would do it. Third phone call to the police and I am begging them to hurry up. This whole time (about 15 minutes or so) customers are coming in to play the darn lottery which we kept yelling at them to leave as soon as they would open the door to come in. Robber was within 15 -20 ft of the door. Homeless women laying on the heating vent just insde the door and finally 2 rifles come through the door. Yeah!!! It's about time. The cops quickly put the guy under arrest and pull his sweatshirt hood down to get a look at him and one cop calls him by name and says Hey, I thought you were already in jail for armed robbery?" The robber responded, "Yeah, I just got out this afternoon." Off he went with the cops back to his still warm jail bed. Don't know what ever became of him but I did just see the homeless woman the other day and she is all cleaned up and driving a car and seems to be blending in like normal with society.

I had a breakin once, where they stole a fake Rolex watch and my Beretta 9mm handgun. I filed a police report, and around 2 years later, the cops called me to tell me that they had the handgun recovered in a crime and the case was over, and that I could have it back. They knew it was mine from the serial number. So I went and got it but it was missing about 5 bullets (Winchester silvertips) from the magazine.....the same bullets I had were still in the magazine. I wonder if the creeps killed anyone with my gun.

Yes, my neighbors were murdered by their 17 year old son. He killed them with a knife at around 3 in the morning. His sister escaped and ran to another neighbor's house to call the police. He's in jail, I think he got life and was tried as an adult. This was about 6 years ago. It freaked everyone out really bad

When I was in high school many years ago I worked at Pet Supermarket. I was cleaning and feeding critters in the morning and my manager and another employee were cleaning fish tanks in the back. Our doors were locked and I glanced up and saw two guys, one with pantyhose on his head and another with a ninja mask. They didn't see me notice them and they ran off. I ran to the back and told my manager but since they were gone she didn't really think anything of it or believe me. When we got a delivery of animals and opened the door, they came back and were armed with guns. Luckily noone was hurt, they took money from the safe and registers and then took off. A guy who was leaving from Waffle House followed them and a couple hours later the cops caught them. Turned out they were friends or related to someone who was recently fired and they were making the rounds. It was pretty intense and scary.

One-and-a-half times.

First time, I was working at Magic Market, and unarmed. (I was under 21, and company policy forbids weapons). Guy walked in with a sawed-off shotgun, and got all the money. Nobody hurt, he and his partner were caught.

Second time, two guys tried to strong-arm me and a friend. I was armed. They left. Nobody was hurt. I didn't call the Police, so they weren't caught.

a good friend i grew up with moved to dallas where he was picked up by another guy in a gay bar. the other guy beat my friend to death and stole his car, stereo, tv, money, credit cards, etc.
the guy got caught and was charged with murder, theft, and credit/debit card abuse (which means using a stolen card). they did not go after a hate crime charge which would have given the guy a stiffer sentence because the DA thought the jury would be too conservative and acquit. they downplayed the gay portion of the crime in court. the guy is in prison and mutual friend tracks him through a TDC website we both have access to through our respective jobs. the mutual friend watches for parole board hearings so all of the friend's family and friends can give testimony to the board.

I had a guy stalking,watching me..He sent me letters,he started involving my daughter..sicko...He ruined a great summer.Scared the crap out of all of us(I could smell the cigarettes,we heard him calling our names)..It was the painter,he wasn't doing his job ...He was never arrested...Rather a farce,I wanted more done..it was a scary, scary experience
