I am from out of state with out of state DL on a rental car. Got pulled over for speeding (62 on 35 mph, Farm road). My licence is a Tx licence and I was pulled over in New Jersey. Do I need a lawyer or I can fight that myself since this is my first ticket after seven years. I am not sure how the point system works on a different state licence. I never been to the court for speeding ticket and not sure how to approach it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

In California, if someone was charged with Domestic Violence and the victim descided to stop charges they will still arrest the person that was charged with charges. Now the question is if bail is $2,500. and thats including 10% charge already. How long will it take for the person to be released if doesn't pay bail?

So often the police are attacked for killing someone. If the police are telling you to do something even if you are innocent shouldn't you do what they say? There are times when the a police officer goes to far but would you say that is the minority of occurances? Should the police find an alternative to guns even if it puts them in more danger? The people they are after are not going to give up their guns.

should the u.k look for alternate methods of detention for our criminals, this is a serious question, our jails are at bursting point and there has to be some kind of solution, hanging them, shooting them etc are not sensible suggestions, maybe the americans have a good idea with island prisons, but would this work over here, there are lots of uninhabited islands owned by the uk, could we use them

I have had problems with my neighbours for years on and off but my main worry at the moment is... in the heat of the moment i got angry when they erected a new fence beside our old one in the garden and i ran out and tried to stop them putting it up. Anyway for years weve had this problem with the fence being not in the right position as they kept moving it overinto my garden to make their garden bigger. Now they have built the new fence i believe it to be built on my land. I live in Scotland and was wondering what my position in Scots Law would be if i were to take them to court. I now have to go to court myself as they called the police when i tried to stop them but i believe it was on my land.

My friend has a suspended license.. or she thinks she does. She HAS to go to work to make money to pay for this, but what if she gets pulled over? She didn't even get a letter telling her it was suspended. She just knows b/c she is late paying a speeding ticket. If a cop gets behind her in traffic and runs her plate, does it come up if her license is suspended?

So our nieghbors behind us have these masive dogs. They are mean, vicious animals. One ran out in front of my car and tried to attack the mail woman. She sprayed him with that stuff and yet he kept trying. Only until she emptied the can did he run away. Now my nieghbors on either side of me complain of the barking, too. It comes through all our windows ALL night long, and it's effecting all of our sleep. Now the dogs have broken their owners fence down and can get through my neighbors yard. She has an 8 month old baby, and a puppy. My neighbor on the other side of me has a 2 year old. Both moms are scared for their childrens lives and their own safety. I'm scared for my life since I saw them attack. So this is what has happened now. First we called the city to complain about the barking(before they started to get loose). They said, unless we have proof (like a recording, which could be faked mind you) of them barking for more than 20 minutes continuiously. continued down.....

Do you think we should go back to disipline from the 50's , I remember being at school & knowing if I spoke in class I would get punished also if I missed behave anywhere I would not get away with it someone would sort me out , kids of today are just YOBS, Saturday night we were awoke with shouting in the street about 20 teenagers were walking in the middle of the road shouting as loud as they could , banging on car roofs as they went , 10 mins after they had gone ,one of my neighbours was shouting for everyone to leave their houses as his van on his drive had been set light , the tarpauline covering his van had been set light and had been smoldering , inside the van was gas bottles , paint , turpentine , the gas bottles started to explode , the air was thick with smoke ,this was not the only van to be set on fire another further along the rd was on fire too,the person that did this could have killed innocent people , just because they wanted some fun??

the theft wasn't a big amount so I received a police caution, it was my first offense. Last year in November I was wrongly arrested again, wasn''t charged but was fingerprinted. My question is when will my criminal record be clean?

Thanks

Do you believe that because of our COMPLETELY Liberal hypersensitive Society, that policeman's now have no rights, when it comes to doing there jobs correctly? And because of this are Cops more at risk then 20 years ago? Especially when it comes to young adolecents, who think they can basically say or do anything they want to when approached by the police? From an older Gentleman>> in my days, police were <> for helping our society to not become, lets just say what it has become now? & yes there are BAD COPS <> I would say there are more good cops than bad cops that can't do there jobs the way they should be done thank you for your time and feedback and I am not a policeman

the big long dump trucks with the long tongue pulling the trailers never go the speed limit here, I realize that their bosses are trying to get as much dirt or whatever hauled as possible in a days time, but my question is how do they get away with it? do they have a special law that us normal people don't?...they also hog the inside lane, and i know for a fact that our state requires other truckers to stay in the outside lane unless passing, these guys in the tandem dumps just stay out there and consistently are 15-20 miles or more over the speed limit...Are cops told to just let them do their thing and not stop them???? i am in the seattle washington area...any traffic police care to respond????

I am going to change my major to Criminology in order to pursue what I've always wanted to do, and be a law enforcement officer (eventually I want to work in counterterrorism, but that's a different thing altogether). My question is, if you're a cop, what's the most rewarding aspect of your job? What about the worst part? Is the money worth the job you do? Any advice or insight would be lovely. :-)

Aren't oral contracts binding? Is he legally obliged to pay me? I guess an oral contract would be a terribly difficult thing to prove, wouldn't it. It's just so frustrating. I had a previous bet with him that I paid.. now I win one (over two years ago now) and he still refuses to pay simply because he's not out of the area and I can't easily catch up with him in person.
