It was reported yesterday that the Police Commander in charge of the ant-terrorist squad responsible for the murder of Jean Charles De-Menendes is to be promoted to Deputy Assistant Chief Constable, notwithstanding she was heavily criticised in the report on the incident subsequently.

Is this not an insult: (a) to the family, (b) to the Brazilian Government, (c) to all ethnic minorities living in London, (d) to the people of London per se.

Agree????

I've just read the above article... and don't get me wrong, but I'm a big supporter of the police... but this isn't their job is it? Surely if there are loopholes in our laws than they are not the ones to fix them. I'm sure there are more deserving matters to hand that they can deal with isn't there?

Is there a law in WA state that last paychecks must be picked up in person? I worked for 2 weeks in retail for Macy's before realizing it was NOT for me, and subsequently got a job using my degree. Can I request they mail my last paycheck? I have emailed several times but have yet to hear back.

The kid got caught with cigarettes at school, definitely against the law (Riverside cnty CA) we know, we know.... the drug him into the office to call me and suspend him and the officer at the school asked him if he was popular, then said that he heard my son smoked pot alot and that he had been selling it. The officer asked if he were to search the kids room would he find any parphenilia or pornography???
Officer asked the kid if he should call me and my boy told him to go ahead. He didn't. The principal called me to tell me of the suspension and that was it.
Is it legal for him to have questioned him with these sorts of accusations?
Now if you knew us you would understand how farfetched this train of questioning really is. This kids parents have lived life and he is not clueless and neither are we, you know the old saying "you can't kid a kidder". We've not raised a little pothead and he certainly is no angel, but this sort of disrespect is totally uncalled for.

The co. opened a new breakroom for us but part of the ceiling was an enclosed hvac duct. It made part of the small room have a ceiling height of about 5` 8`` I came in and took a chair at the provided table. While talking to my fellow security officers, I got an alarm over my radio, telling me to respond asap. I had to acknowledge by phone because radio was forbidden on that sensitive level. I rose quickly ,forgetting the low ceiling banging my hardhat. Though it saved my head from injury, my spine was compressed and I have been out of work on work comp for 3 weeks now. I am an armed nuclear security guard ,that must carry 35lbs. of equipment. I have no previous history of back problems and will lose my job if I cannot recover.

The cable guy came to my house to set up the cable. I was not home at the time but my mother was. I remembered that I had left the camera on my desk so I called my mom to make sure it was still there. She told me the guy returned it saying that he was playing with it and left it in his box by accident. I was relieved that he gave it back to me. However, the next day i realized my USB Cable that connects from the camera to the computer was missing. I totally remembered exactly where I had placed it so i was sure it was gone. I knew he took it. As it turns out he gave my mom his cell phone number so i gave him a call. He told me to call him back on Tuesday and he'll check if he has it. Today is tuesday and he said he DOES have it. But im still waiting no phone call, nothin. If i cant get in contact wit him im gonna call TimeWarnerCable and report this incident.. I want him to face the consequences of his actions. I feel so violated.. I was also wondering if I can report this to the polic
