What has the supreme court ruled on the power of tribal courts?

Unless thee has been a recent ruling, tribal courts still have authority over enrolled indigenous members of the tribe. However, the same case can be tried in U.S. Federal Court which many believe is Double Jeopardy.

Whoo boy. THat is an incredibly BROAD question. Too broad for this board. There have been NUMEROUS issues (from child custody disputes to fishing rights, etc.) Many of those decisions decide between the competing jurisdictional rights of the various courts.

You must be more specific or this case is incapable of any useful answer.

I don't have case cites handy, but if memory serves they have the equivalent authority over local tribal laws that state and county courts have over state/local matters.
