I am trying to get my ex's criminal background in IL. I found a court site in IA that pulls up everything free, but I can't find any for IL. Every "free" site I try still makes you pay. I know there has to be a completely free, since IA has one, but just can't find it.

I don't think IL has one for the entire state.

Several counties do have them though.

IL does not have what MD has.

http://www.mdcourts.gov - click on Case Search (which is free)

Type in a last name and a first name and receive every court case that person has been involved in (results are free to).

the gov. in IL is different then IA. they probably dont allow people to look up info like that without paying, thats why you cant get it for free.

This site will answer your questions. I think there is a $10 charge for those records.
