I've seen a truck that says, Police, parking control. Can they give other kinds of tickets besides parking tickets? For example-speeding tickets?

This question has to do with debating.I went to a debate at a University. A defense lawyer argued for the legalization of some illegal drugs. The defense lawyer stands to loose clients if drugs are legalized. So, she was arguing against her own self-interest. On the other side, a law enforcement agent argued against legalizing drugs. But, obviously, it would be against his best interest if drugs were legalized. So, was his argument tainted by his self-interest in preserving the drug enforcement industry? I have read some Police Chiefs and even Police Officers argue for legalization. To me that is a very compelling argument. Is there anyone in this forum, who is a law enforcement officer, who would argue for legalization? Either way, why or why not? In debates, in general, does arguing against your own self-interest make the argument more compelling than taking a position that favors your own self-interest?

I've been pulled over by Ohio highway patrol, and city police in Ohio and West Virginia. West Virginia gave me a speeding ticket. No one has ever mentioned to me I have an NCIC warrant, except my PO in California. I want to visit someone in jail in Ohio, but don't know if I can. It would seem like if I indeed had a warrant, it would have came up.

My african-american neighbors constantly let their teenager kids out even during the midnight. Their kids would play dodge ball or basket ball in the street and they purposely hit the parked cars in the street ( including mine). I've already noticed a few dents which cause by my neighbor's kids and when I tried talking to their parents about it and they would deny it and say that I'm only making this up because I hate black people, which is not an issue at all. I just feel that I have the right to protect my property. Should I call the cops on them or any ways to stop their kids from damaging my car? Thanks

Bouncers would not let my brother and his friends in a club (keep in mind they didn't get kicked out, they just couldn't get in), so his friends started a fight with the bouncers. I realize my brother could be guilty by association but he did not fight, so how could they charge him with battery? Also, he was the only one arressted because his friends ran. I guess he didn't run because he figured he was not guilty. I doubt the bouncers will recognize his face and vouch for him in court. Could he possibly get a plea bargin for ratting on his friends? What are the chances of fighting this case?

My brother and his friends were and at club and the bouncers kicked them out. His friends got into a fight with the bouncers while my brother did nothing. When the cops came, his friends ran and the police officer arrested him and charged him with assault and battery, but my brother never fought. He tried to say "no" to the officer and the officer grabbed him by the throat. Does that sound right? I didn't think cops were able to do that.. What are my brothers chances of fighting the charges and what is the best way to go about this?

I have been charged with this. I am 18 years old and was caught drinking. I know there is a fine and I'm not worried about that. I failed the tests that they ran but they never took my Blood Alcohol Level. They said there is a chance my license could be taken away even though I wasn't driving. If somebody has had the same problem how often do they take your license away? Is there anyways to beat this in court?

Hi yeah I'm very stressed out. First of all I'm 21 years old(just in case you might think I'm a teenager just because I'm asking about a family situation lol) anyway my mom has been going a hundred mile an hour taking care of everybody 24/7(including an 18month old baby which my brother rarely takes her home at night. dude it's not like he's disabled!) anyway her back has been hurtin really bad like back tension, and her doctor even suggested she should take a few days off. Well I can only come home on weekends because I'm going to school, and my dad(who's always been emotionally abusive to her, treating her like a slave and makes her sleep on the floor.), still tells her to do this and that even though he clearly knows she's in pain and bed resting! My pastor's wife offered to take care of my neice but my mom of course declined(she called her bawling because she needed someone else to clean the church). Ok running out of characters. Suggestions? What can the Law do to help? curious

They are aged between 11 and 13 and should know better. I had my 15 week old son in the car and feel that they could have caused an accident. I spoke to the mother of the lad who's garden they were in and she just didn't seem bothered. I drove back past about 5 mins later and they were still playing with the super soaker. I feel that unless something is done, they could cause an accident. Do you think I would be wasting the time of the police if I called them? Or does anyone have any good ideas on how to deal with the situation (sensible answers only please). Thanks.

We all know south American drug lords have people surgically altered to be drug mules - or can have people swallow baggies of cocaine to sneak into America.

Would it be possible, or logical to assume terrorists could have their bodies surgicaly altered - perhaps their underarms or belly fat, to carry blocks of C4 or another powerful explosive?

If they had a block of c4 implanted under their skin, and ran a fuse out that looked like hair, I doubt anyone would be able to detect it. Airport security has new devices that "sniff" for explosives but if the explosive was under the skin... I think the device might miss it.

They could sit next to the window, blow themselves up, bring the plane down and nt even feel a thing.
