I work at a hotel in california and in a meeting yesterday they said they're installing 3 more cameras at the front desk, some in the back office - which is fine i guess - but the general manager has the power to access the cameras live anytime with an internet connection on his laptop and able to zoom in and get audio - it seems he has way too much power and makes not only me, but the other employees uncomfortable. Is this sort of implementation illegal or even disputable?

Two or three people now have told me it's the law to fit a fireguard, as we have a one year old and another on the way. We've not yet lit the fire, but have taught our son to keep away from it anyway. Would I be breaking the law to light it without a guard? Obviously I am aware of the need to supervise etc, and that fireguards aren't there to be relied upon, and am not being neglectful, I just want to know if there actually is a law relating to this... Thanks.

I'm seething with anger at congress spending their time investigating a business for steroid use. What purpose is this to the taxpayers????? Does this help solve the war, educational deficiencies, hunger, bad tax laws, immigration, skyrocketing health care cost.... MLB is a PRIVATE BUSINESS that can set it own rules regarding the use of legal and illegal substances. If anything maybe a criminal probe on illegal substances BUT THAT'S IT. Get back to your real jobs and stop spotlighting yourself. What next?? Hollywood actors using steriods to fit the part?? where does end congress???????????

I just wanna start off by saying this was the first time i've ever done something like this before and It will never happen again.

these were the charges brought against me. "...Commit the of criminal mischief by entering sports authority store and purposefully damaging three gaming tables valued at 329.95, by urinating on all three tables...

...Commit the offense of lewdness specifically by walking into sports authority while it was open for business and taking his penis in an area of the store where it was reasonable to assume that he would have been seen by other and urinated on merchandise that was for sale..

...he urinated on merchandise and the floor of the store thereby leaving body fluid around which caused a hazardous condition to customers and employees. "

What is going to happen to me, when i go to court?
How much am I going to have to pay?
Is that 329.95 Each for the gaming tables?

I live on 5.5 acres and made a site for my inlaws to stay in thier 40 foot 5th wheel trailer over the Summer months.
Since they started doing this they had a shed built at the site and I installed a trench with water, Sat TV, Electricity hookups etc. My inlaws can be difficult and I invision having to ask them to leave someday. What are my legal concerns as far as the Shed, Car port etc and how do I protect myself if that happens? The paid for these items, but it is al on my property. I let them set this up, but there is ZERO in writing.
I just dont want to find out that I cant legally tell them to leave if things get problematic. Would I legally own this stuff if my house was appraised with it al in place?

I got this posted in the comments section of one of my poems... do you think they're serious?

Greetings.

I represent the estate of the late Jim Morrison.

Our law offices have reviewed your poem, and it is our position that "Hello, excuse me, can you tell me your name?" is a copyright infringement to "Hello, I Love You" (won't you tell me your name?.) Our duty to the late author of these lyrics leaves us no choice but to provide notice to you of the following:

Enclosed please find a Summons and Complaint with a Statement of Damages for $100,000,000 (One Hundred Million Dollars). Please sign the Notice of Acknowledgement and Receipt of Summons and Complaint and return an original signed copy in the envelope provided. Should you refuse to accept service of process in this manner, the court may award us the costs of retaining a private process service to personally serve you with the enclosed documents.

We are willing to entertain a settlement offer within the reasonable boundaries of the amount alleged in the Complaint, but no less than $80,000,000 (Eighty Million Dollars).

Should you have any questions or desire further information, please do not hesitate to contact our offices.

With kind regards,

M. Tipton Thomas, III, Esq.

Do you think that repeat sex offenders should get the threat of the death penalty? When time behind bars and probation doesn't get through to these sickos, do you think we should try something different? I think that these people don't deserve to live, and a lot of these guys need to be made an example of to the others. If not killed, I think they should spend the rest of their lives behind bars and not put on probation so they can repeat the crime again. These people need a more harsh punishment!!!! What do you guys think?
