I am an 18 year old high school student and my great grandfather passed away a few years ago and had left $5,000 to me and a couple other of the great grand children..he also left $10,000 to my mother..it was a thank you gift in his will because he had cancer and we had all helped him through his last days. My mother told me about it when I was younger, I have read somewhere on the internet that the legal age is 18..but I though when I was younger that she had meant 20 or 21 until I can touch it..I can't look up my great grandpa on the internet because I do not have all of the required information and for me to contact the trustee or guardian of the will..he is my moms uncle and he lives in saskatchewan. Help me please... what is the legal age you are entitled to that money and if anyone knows how this kind of thing works..please let me know!

A dutch company bought our company, although there are new owners the main director is the same man. When we ask him for our money, he tells us to contact the Dutch investors, and they say they are not liable for overheads. Is there a website I can contact, and lay a complaint?

A partner or ex-partner and Domestic Violence kills more women than cancer (of a certain age bracket).

This is a shokcing statistic, what also surprises me is projects to address domestic abuse still sit largely in criminal justice arenas and there is little, if any preventative support work undertaken. (Meaning people wait until a serious crime has been committed before they can access projects such as IDAP)

Does this surprise you?

Methanphetamine is a problem in this country. Parents seen the effect it has had on our children, and thats when our country chose to start something that they would cause this country to begin it's downfall. From this "war" they stopped making ephedrine in all of the United States. The only place that still makes the stuff is Mexico and Canada. Now the Canadians are peaceful people, and I really cant see them trying to flood our country with this drug that was created to help with our sinuses, such as Sudafed. Now our other neighbor I mentioned just so happens to be one that everyone knows is corrupted clear down to the officals. Money can get you out of jail, your enemies eliminated, and all the power you can afford. Now what resulted from this was the samething happening in our "land of the free, and home of the brave". Starting with the people over at customs getting a paycheck on the side for allowing certain cars to just be passed by without even a second glance.

i dont want to seem like a conspiracy theorist like alex jones, but i've noticed things. the police having these check points for no reason at all. what is that, being stopped to check my registration, that doesnt seem right. being thrown in jail for protesting on the streets, i thought freedom of speech was a right that belong to me. i see more and more officers doing things that should'nt be done. the military in our streets at night, what are they doing running around fully armored. i seen this one night and never thought anything about it, but will we soon be the hunted? will we have curfews and will be be prisioners in our own country? im just saying

i was recently cited for underage prohibition under 21, open container, and littering. the situation was kinda crappy because i fact wasn't drinking out in public, but was merely handed an open can a beer right before three cops came over and busted us. i dont want to plead guilty to the charges, because i'm not, but i know i cant fight them because it would be my word against the cops and plus i live a lengthy distance from the place where it happened. my question is can i enter a plea of " no contest" in this case. i was reading about it online and it said that in some places that a plea of no contest isn't accepted. also i was wondering if the judge could possible take this type of plea as a way of "trying to get out of the charges" and give me a stiffer sentence. if anyone could help me out i would be grateful. oh and if it helps it happened in Columbus Ohio.

I have worked for my current employer for a little over 2 years. I have applied for Head Cashier 10 times, Front End Supervisor twice and a transfer to another deptartment once. I was interviewed 1 time, 2 years ago this month for Head Cashier. Since then I have not been interviewed and barely acknowledged for the other 12 attempts. All of the positions I applied for, were posted in the break room with the added notation "Internal Job openings". When I asked what that means, I was told that those jobs are for current associates only. 6 of the 10 times I applied for Head cashier, people were hired off the street and I wasnt interviewed. The 2 times I applied for Front End Supervisor, I was told in order to be the FES, you have to be a Head Cashier atleast 6 months. The lady that was promoted was never a head cashier. The 1 time I applied for another dept I was asked by that supervisor. The HR manager hired 2 people and didnt interview me. I am at a loss as to what to do.

In 2009 smokers can't get hired for work because of the cost of health care will tripple and employers don't want to pay for smoking employees health problems. It looks like mostly only Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses will have jobs. My only concern about smokers not getting hired is the vast amount of homelessness that will result from this. Every other person in America will be living on the streets. Well, what's you're opinion about this?

I have a few questions about mayor. I have a freind in sterling heights michigan who is 16 years old. She wants to run for mayor either this year or next year. What is the age requirement of running for mayor? Do you need to have a college education?

What do mayors do exactly? Can they make laws of the city and change areas of the city. Can they lower taxes and bring more money towards the city and can they change the cities schools in a better way. Tell me what mayors have the right to do. Also how can you run for mayor and be elected. Thanks for answering these questions.

This just makes me see red! In Nevada a guy was gonna be put to death by lethal injection tonight! This angel' s crime? Beat a elderly woman to death! There was more then enough evidence to prove he did it. But a group of LIBERAL protesters got together went down there and started whinnying about the death penalty being to cruel. Found a LIBERAL judge and got a stay . Now it starts all over going to a grand Jury deciding it the death pen. is to cruel! Did I mention this little bastard beat a elderly women to death? DO YOU SEE WHAT"S WRONG WITH THIS??? If that was my mother he killed I can guarantee he wouldn't think lethal injection is to cruel . He would be begging for it . Now you tell me why this pease of Sh*t should not be put to death!!!! You pretend it was your mother!

I am a parttime photographer at a retail store. I only work about 20-24 hours a week. They've had a problem with me ever since I've started because I can only work certain days--I'm a stay at home mom the rest of the time. I've been working at this company for a year and a half and 12 people have quit at my studio. I feel like I'm being discriminated against. I am the only one my boss bothers about my schedule, sales, and other various things. And obviously I'm a loyal person and a damn good photographer, I just love what I do.
He claims that the DM is going to cut an hour of my pay because she saw no reason why I was at work past my scheduled time. I WAS WORKING! I don't think it matters, I'm not getting overtime wages and I've never been told it wasn't okay to work past my scheduled time. I told him it was against the law to take away an hour I actually worked. I am going to call the EEOC tomorrow and file a complaint. What would you do?

I have a friend who lives in South Dakota. He is enrolled in High School and has no history with drugs, violence, etc. He's a perfectly fine guy. He turned 18 a little more than a month ago. Is it legal for his parents to kick him out on the street for no reason whatsoever? This isn't the first time they've kicked him out either. Last year (when he was under 18) his parents kicked him out, also for no reason. They recently let him move back in but now want him gone again. Basically, whenever his parents feel like it they want him gone. If it is legal for him to be kicked out, what kind of financial help and housing is he eligible for in SD?
