Methanphetamine is a problem in this country. Parents seen the effect it has had on our children, and thats when our country chose to start something that they would cause this country to begin it's downfall. From this "war" they stopped making ephedrine in all of the United States. The only place that still makes the stuff is Mexico and Canada. Now the Canadians are peaceful people, and I really cant see them trying to flood our country with this drug that was created to help with our sinuses, such as Sudafed. Now our other neighbor I mentioned just so happens to be one that everyone knows is corrupted clear down to the officals. Money can get you out of jail, your enemies eliminated, and all the power you can afford. Now what resulted from this was the samething happening in our "land of the free, and home of the brave". Starting with the people over at customs getting a paycheck on the side for allowing certain cars to just be passed by without even a second glance.

Well this has found it's way to where I live, which is El Monte, Ca. These men are just that, meaning they are vulnerable to anything any other man is. They say that everyone has a price and they aint any different than us. Now the Italian mafia started their rein of terror from bootlegging alchohal, in the 1920's and 30's. You have to think of it like this; Money that is obtained illegaly doesnt get taxed, and it even opens up more jobs for the "special" teams that have to get hired to catch these "bad guys". It's a win win situation, for the government/ganglords, of which I view as one and the same. Somewhere down the line people figured out how to take this weapon away from these bad kids. They made it legal, and if anyone watched The Godfather or payed attention to history they then had to make the choice of moving on to drugs, which they viewed as a "dirty way of getting money". Now this is where my story takes place. The people of my heritage pick up from right there.

Mexicans come into this country with the idea in their heads of obtaining a better life for their kids and family. They work hard to get this. Only problem is that they do it, without thinking about the without thinking about all the blood and tears it took the people of this country to remain free to give this to anyone who wanted it. I believe it was the man who came to be known as the world's last gunslinger, the late president John F Kennedy "It's not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country". My people have this thing about learning English, in fear of the other ones who were to lazy to even try to call them pocho, meaning sell out. The ones who werent afraid actually went through getting their green card, and through this learned what it means to be an American. You can see the differance between the two. The ones who come from the family's who went through with becoming Americans, have went on to become our Mayors and officals.
