last 5 days one of my roomates and i have butted heads.Its over stupid stuff.5 days ago we almost came to blows because he just lost it and i stood up to him.that day he hit me with a table in the leg(not that hard).then he made threatening comments about my dog.he also kept on saying I want to f u up, punch you etc.got in my face.i made sure not to threaten back only with youll go back to jail stuff(on probation for 2 duis).today im minding my own business and he gets mad cause the door is opened.i say im going right back out, he makes a comment then i say one more word im calling the cops on you.he then picks up a fire estingusher and threatens to hit me.then he gets in my face twice, he keeps on saying he wants to fight me,i just tell him hes not as tough as he thinks.he said if i wasnt on probation id f u up,lets go outside etc.my roomates also told me he said that earlier and that when he gets off probation hell hunt me down. i have witnesses for today but not the other day.

he claims hes moving out but dont think he found a place.i totally feel uneasy around this kid.he argues with everyone.Im mostly worried about my stuff i have.he opened my trunk one morning when i was sleeping and left it.he slams doors,just runs his mouth constantly,im also worried when im not home he might do soemthing to my dog.even if he leaves who says he cant come back and mess up my car or something else.i think im going to get a restraining order on him going to talk to a laywer at my school.kicking him out is tough cause in my town only 3 unrelated people can rent together and there is 5 of us.the cops get involved then we are all screwed.the idiot is on the lease if he wasnt he would be gone in two seconds.

Grave threats is the crime committed against you. File a complaint and request the policemen to investigate the incident.

You have a problem.
If you get him busted and sent to jail for violating the terms of his probation, he won't be paying anymore rent, and you might b forced to front his share.
Contact his probation officer, and talk about the situation with him. Thereafter, the PO may contact your roommate and let him know about the potential jail time he's looking at if he continues with the threats and aggressive behavior.

Time to call the cops and get it on record in case he kills you in the night. Lock your door and block it with a chair. get out if you can. This guy sounds like a psycho.

It will depend on your state of residence. Making a threat is a misdemeanor in my state, unless a weapon is involved.
Sounds like it's time to find a new residence / room mate.

Get a restraining order...forcing him to move out...and if he even comes near you, he can be arrested
