I need them for school, and I'd rather buy them cheap somewhere, quickly...or if there is a link to either or both online, so I don't have to go to the law library,,,,that'd be great. thx.

My husband received assignment somewhere else and so we had to break our lease early, and the apartment / rental company that leases the property said they needed to have a copy of my husband's orders and that he could not just show them to the management.

Is this legal?

my mom is in the national guard and had surgery were they had to put in an acute port into her chest and this was done at the v.a. hospital they told her they would be putting her asleep for the operation so they put the iv in her and then take her to surgery well they started to cut and my mom told them to stop cuz she could feel it and remember she was supposed to be asleep during this well they continue on and she is still telling them to stop and crying and screaming but they don't stop she tells them that she can feel everything and that the meds aren't working but still they don't stop to see why she is awake and talking to them. finally they get done with the surgery and she goes into recovery and the nurse there said she wasn't expecting her to be awake but asleep my mom tells her she never was asleep and then they realized the reason her meds weren't workin was because they didn't get into her blood stream they stayed in her arm. we filled a complaint to the medical advacate

the summary:
i am currently on suspension at my job for an alleged fruadelent return scheme. the day of the incident i did a cash return for a woman returning a lock box...i made a mistake on the sku number, but the transaction was fine.
loss provention called the police and i was not arrested because lack of evidence. but i was mailed a complaint stating i was being charged with larceny over $250, and the complaint stated there was a record of transactions under my employee number that were alleged to be fraudlent.

the facts:
my job has no solid proof that i stole money or property.
there is no proof that the other transactions were done by me. ( if employees forget to take out their code on the register another employee can function under your number - i have a witness co-worker to confirm this)
also the complaint is completely wrong from the charge. the complaint is discussing the one transaction, where the charge is for a greater crime.....please give me your opinion!!!!

"Congress is currently debating the reauthorization of SCHIP, the highly successful State Children's Health Insurance Program. By increasing the tax on cigarettes, we can expand SCHIP so that millions more uninsured children in our country get the quality care they deserve. And, raising the taxes on cigarettes means fewer kids will start smoking."

If you can't afford children, don't have them. The welfare system is already a mess with rampant abuse.

Why not open federal orphanages?
Or make birth-control mandatory for repeat offenders? It could be like a two-strikes law.

I understand that Suicide is a bad thing, but why is it illegal? I've read on some other posted questions that the Government Owns your body and can throw you in jail if you failed to kill yourself, is that true?

I mean, whats the punishment to someone who commits suicide? Are they really going to throw a dead body in jail?

"Everybody has his/her own rights" why doesn't this affect whether people choose to live or die?

I just don't see why its illegal.

Should killing be made illegal? Seriously, if you kill someone but you use a car as the weapon, don't worry about getting in trouble. This link:
http://www.koin.com/Global/story.asp?S=6867735
tells about a driver who had a suspended license and no insurance hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The pedestrian died and the driver wasn't even arrested. Isn't that insane?

Here's the deal. I have been working for this company for over a year and the job requires a lot of lifting and bending over, and other things that I have a doctors note saying that I cannot do while I am in the last trimester of pregnancy. My work has laid me off becasue they say they cannot accomodate me because all of the money that htey have in their payroll budget is for people who can perform the job completely. Basically, they laid me ioff becasue they can't afford to pay me if they are just having me there to do light duty, which I find rediculous. To me, this sounds a lot like preganncy discrimination. I am able to draw unemployment benefits while I am off, but it is only $115 a week, where I bring home $350 a week while working. This financailly burdens my family, obviously, which is why I am hot about this whole thing. Please, if you KNOW how these laws regarding pregnancy and the workplace work, let me know if I have an argument against them.

OK me Stepmom to three kids I've been raising them for three years husbands gone alot with work thier Mom lives in another state hasent seen in threee years untill a week ago. I was not in the court room but was asked to wait in the hall by my husbands attorney. when court was over everyone came out and informed me that the Judge had placed the kids in my care and that i was to supervise both parents when around the kids or when either one of them was on the phone. But I don't understand why he choose me the stepmom over maybe someone who does it for a living. and why? I think it might be because both of the parnets signed papers years ago giving me Gaurdenshipe rights and the kids have been in my care since. My husband is home alot but gone a few days aweek. It makes it hard to balance all this and my husband is haveing trouble dealing with it too. has this happend to anybody please help. it all so crazy and happened so fast.

Hi! I have a question about domestic violence. Recently my sister got beaten up pretty bad by her boyfriend, and I am wondering how they would determine if this is a felony or a misdemeanor?

The reason I ask is because he beat her up, and she went into court facing a felony, and he was facing only a misdemeanor!!! Well his dad happens to be a judge in the same court and has a history of making his sons felonies go bye-bye. This kid has walked into court three times facing felonies!! And has a perfectly clean record. Just as clean as mine and I have never been arrested!

But that is a little off topic. I want to know what information is used in a physical domestic dispute to determine if it is a felony or misdemeanor. Please cite your sources.

And if you happen to know who I can write to about the corruption being investigated that would be appreciated too. Thanks.

We are a startup magazine. I made a verbal agreement with a friend work for our publication for X amount for every issue. We never signed any agreements. She was the Fashion Dir. of the magazine. The other partners recognized this. She conducted photoshoots, contacted clothing vendors, found models for casting calls. She is even named in the masthead of a number of issues for the magazine. She was even offered partnership at one point for all her hard work and because we couldnt afford to pay her.

The partnership has gone sour and now the other partners are saying we don't owe her anything because there are no signed agreements. They say she was just "help" for the company. I don't agree with them and believe that we should pay her. I believe in doing whats morally and ethically right. If she were to sue the company I wouldn't lie about the agreement I made with her. By saying that she is telling the truth is that enough for the company to have to pay her what I agreed to?

are we abusing our jail system? is it right to send a kid who downloads music to jail or to get sued an unrealistic amount of money? its like the war on drugs and the war on terror, not matter how hard or what punishments you try to push on people, if people want to do something, they will find a way to do it, you cannot control human behavior to a certain extent.
is it right to put people in jail for non violent crimes? in no danger to themselves or others?

and should we learn from past mistakes and actions, and learn from them? if something hasnt worked efficiently, and theres more options, should we change those actions?

I don't know much about law, but take for example

1) you were caught with possession of LSD

however, you were a round-the-clock humanitarian, volunteer worker, charity organiser and counsellor. Would the law treat you differently based on being good natured or is this not possible?

Obviously a possession of a drug is different then murder...
