Should killing be made illegal? Seriously, if you kill someone but you use a car as the weapon, don't worry about getting in trouble. This link:

tells about a driver who had a suspended license and no insurance hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The pedestrian died and the driver wasn't even arrested. Isn't that insane?

why don't you look up negligent homicide and vehicular homicide and see what the Oregon laws are. I'd be surprised if the driver didn't end up in lots of trouble.

Most definitely ridiculous. He should be tried by a jury of the peers like any other citizen who broke the law in the same manner instead of getting a get out of jail free car inevitably putting him back on the streets where this scenario could play out all over again.

Well for one our justice system has gone to teh dogs and the jufges aren't as good as they used to be. And if you wnat to get off a killing charge just get a good lawyer and he will probably get you off. Just liek if you rob a bank, you take hostages, you kill two of them and you have a shootout with the cops and you kill one of them. Well low and behold once that they take you out of the bank your a suspect. what's that all about.

well he should get something for the suspended license and it matters who was at fault. But it was an accident, and he shouldnt be arrested for that. It wouldnt be fair, because this person did not set out to kill them.

It's called an accident. It happens.

The death of this person was not a crime. The fact that the driver was driving on a suspended license is a crime.

Yeah they should a crime. There is a thing as vehicular manslaughter, but it is hard to pin a bad driver for it.

It would be nice to have SOME punishment for careless manslaughter, but of course not on the premeditated murder level.

The government will never go for that - how can the FBI shoot criminals if killing is illegal? or do you mean killing would still be legal for the government but no one else? That's called totalitarianism. Is your hero Saddam or Stalin?
