there are entire books and websites that list ridiculous laws. my favorite is: it's illegal to hunt whales in Oklahoma. this would be a great law, except Oklahoma is an inland state and has absolutely NO oceans and therefore NO whales.

here's a website that list dumb laws. (and not just american laws either) http://www.dumblaws.com/

In Memphis ( I think I remember that right), A woman cannot drive a car without a man walking in front of the car waveing a red flag.

In California, You cannot shoot a whale from the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) from your car.

Edit. I have also heard the S.C. Law. It is supposedly where the "rule of thumb" came from. The stick cannot be larger than the diameter of your thumb.

I read on a website about one of the southern states where it is illegal for a child under the age of 5 to have more than 2 beers in a 24hour period. Gotta love those weird laws lol

Acworth GA once had a law requiring every household to own a rake. The stated reason for passing the law was to make fun of Kennesaw Ga for a law requiring every household to own a gun. Kennesaw never enforces its law, but it is reported to have a very low crime rate.

Here in Michigan theres a law that "A womans hair legally belongs to her husband" and as a follow up law "must receive permisson to cut her hair". I'm sure no one abides by that law, but I know its real.

In Washington DC, they can't put a guy with an IQ of less than 50 in charge. But they've broken that one a few times.

Dont know any U.S. laws as Im in G.B.

The weirdest one in existence here (in my opinion) is that an "Englishman" can shoot and kill a "Welshman" with a longbow, but only on a Sunday.
