I think that we should institute a way in which at age 16 everyone becomes a slave for a period of 2 years
After which you recieve the same payment back from other 16 year olds for the rest of your life

do you think this can deal with the problem of children immaturity at that age as well?

This Attorney says my husband still owes for services. Ok, fine, call him. But He keeps calling me at work, now says he is going to the judge on a closed case and make sure my husband gets jail time. Then another call, He says to pay him or he'll make sure my kids go to foster care for not paying this bill. The bill is for a traffic ticket case and the balance owed is like $200. Point is I dont know anything and this person is making threats to me and my kids. Is this for real? What are my options, Im scared!

I have a friend who went to get an abortion and accidentally dropped her cell phone outside. The protesters took her phone and called people on the contact list to let them know what she was doing. They still have the phone.

What would be the first steps to taking action? Should she go straight to the police? Will they be able to figure out who took the phone and made the calls?

yes my mother is a control freak, but its time i do whats best (i have discussed with shrink) although i have wanted my daughter to have her own relationship with her , without my imput of feelings ,anger, hurt and so on. its become a mess. both my mother and ex have nice incomes/trusts.with that being said, they can hire attorney after attorney and all the other people they like to be brought into court. (my ex is very much like my mother) they both toss their emotions good/bad onto my daughter. she fears getting them upset its a nasty mess. although i have grown up in this learning process its time my daughter feels safe with her feelings no matter what they are. she needs to vent in a proper way. getting a GAL for me im not sure, but the courts have to issue her one..? right?thats the only way she will feel safe, i think... (safe emotionally)

Ok so heres me and my friends situation.
We went on a trip and on the way back, some one passed us while going 100+ mph on a 2-lane one-way road. That car eventually lost control like a 100 feet away and started to flip and roll and because there was dirt, it created a mini dust storm. everyone infront of us slowed down and so we slowed down too. While we were slowing down, a car behind us goin at like 80 mph didnt notice. He swerved out of the way of our car but because he didnt want to fly off, he swerved back in and hit us with the back left of his car. our bumper did fall off on one side and there is only a dent on one side. Also, his back tire area kinda got damaged but its like super-glueable.. so is this an arguable case? cuz the cop we had only tended the other accident and so he said that since our words were the same, he wont give us a police report.

My boss is giving me a hard time because I'm unable to go to a 5 day long corporate business meeting (lectures and boozing...2000 miles away), because I have 2 very important doctor's appointments that week. She's insisting that I reschedule these appointments so that I can attend the meeting, but I was on a 3 month long waiting list for one of the appointments, and I'm not about to jeopardize my health to wait another couple weeks or so to get in, and I shouldn't have to. Needless to say, she's pissed, and is coming to my store tomorrow to "talk" with me. I won't cave, but I just have this feeling that she'll try to make me feel like I should put work before health. She's not an understanding person whatsoever.
What are the laws against this type of treatment? And can anyone direct me to a website that state these laws? Can I sue the company if I get an ultimatum? Thanks for your help.

Hi, I recently moved into a ground floor flat, the landlord owns the whole building. There's a fire escape which comes down into a small communal yard which is outside our living room window, and kitchen door. Our housemate has seen a rat there during the daytime (I heard this was a bad sign and might mean there are quite alot nearby?) The lease says nothing about who's responsibility pests would be, but I'd think it'd be in the landlord's best interests to get rid of rats because of the damage they could do. Is there any kind of law that says rats in communal areas are the landlord's responsibility to get rid of or that they have to get rid of them to provide decent living conditions? The landlord seems a bit old and confused and also rather stingey so I'm just asking this incase we explain about the rat and he doesn't do anything.

I stayed at the Ayres Suites this past weekend and not to my knowledge I was staying in a non smoking room. My door did not have the sign on the front that said non smoking it seemed like every other door had one so assumed it was fine.
Three days later I was charged for smoking in a non smoking room.
125 dollars.
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find like a set fee for that or laws on that. When I checked in a signed my receipt and they told me that when I signed that that I signed for no smoking and no pets but I dont remember reading that.
If anyone knows where I can find the laws or fees for that please let me know.

Personally, I'm against it. It gives off the illusion that you have to follow god to be a moral person when in reality morality is not dependent on religion.

I think that they should be taken down from public places and displayed in the homes of people who want to see them and in churches.

My father passed a year in a half ago and he left my name on everything except this one account that has like 12,000.00 dollars. I believe it was stocks. He did not put down any beneficiary. I was told it does not need to go through probate because it is less than $100,000.00. However, I don't know what the next step is that I need to take in order to get the money.

What am I suppose to do?

I was born here(U.S.A) but haven't filed a tax return since 1994. I figured I have a good government, just let 'em keep the money. However, since I reconnected with my highschool buddies I have been under severe watch by the N.S.A. I have been under survailance since the OK. city bombing. I met Tim Mcveigh in high school through a set of friends. I did agree with his views on government but did not participate in his foolish way to make a point. I can't fly, I probably can't vote next election, I'm guilty until proven innocent? N.S.A. just arrest me.
