Can someone who is fully conversant with the UK Data Protection Act tell me whether I am correct in the following belief:

That if I inform a company or organisation that holds personal data about me that the data they hold is inaccurate, provide them with the correct information and ask them to change their data, that the Data Protection Act says they must do it.

Second, that if they fail to do it, continue to act upon the incorrect data and I suffer as a result, this is a breach of the Data Protection Act and I could prosecute them for this breach.

Or have I got it completely wrong?

A neighbor has an electrified fence. The fence was temporarily damaged with a bobcat (not sure if the neighbor commissioned the bobcat). His dog got loose. The dog got into our pool destroyed the liner and died while we were out of town. Our insurance won't cover it because a domestic animal caused the damage. Will our neighbor's insurance cover the damage?

Hello all, I am not really sure where to start with this.....my driver was in his truck with trailer making a delivery of household goods to an apartment building in central Calgary. When he was leaving the apartment building he took down the power lines and phone lines with his rig. The shipper (customer) told him where to park the vehicle, so my driver did as he was told. The apartment building parking lot is private property. What is my legal obligation for this? Is there any free phone service where I could just ask them this simple question?
Thank you too all those with serious and adult answers!

I received a parking ticket from the city of Ann Arbor, MI. I paid the ticket on time. However when i viewed the check online after it cleared my bank, the city changed the amount of the check. They had written over my numbers to change the amount the check was for!!! This was the city government doing this!!

The amount of change is rather minimal, but I still feel like this action is illegal. Can someone out there with legal experience offer some advice. Should I file a complaint?

I am in Ontario Canada. My old landlord just mailed me a bill for repairs he said I caused. I had offered to paint and clean before I moved and they declined. Now they are saying they had to paint, clean, replace blinds because of damage. I moved on a Friday and the new tenant was in on the Saturday and they billed me for 38 hours of painting? My boss co-signed and they threatened to sue him if I didn't pay. Who can I call? I don't want to loose my job. My boss is mad but I can't afford to pay these guys of neither. What can I do?

It's a clause in a contract, it stipulates as follows: "If the performance of any obligation of a party is prevented or interfered with by force majeure for a period not exceeding fourteen (14) calendar days, such party shall be excused from that performance to the extent of that prevention or interference, but shall make or use all efforts to avoid such force majeure and shall continue to perform in terms of this agreement as soon as performance becomes possible...... Last week I saw a post on here where a woman was talking about hiring a private eye to investigate her daughters boyfriend. Somebody mention the link http://background-records.net/ as a good place to find info online. Well I checked out the site and entered my sisters boyfriends name and found out that he was convicted of armed robbery in 1999. I know this is him because the name, date of birth, and address are all the same. I am sure my sister or my dad doesn't know.......should I tell my sister or our dad? I don't know how to handle this situation.
