Go to the web page for the ACLU, aclu.org, and while you are there you can make a donation. This is the only organization standing between the american people and a tyrannical govt.

Both are of concern. The patriot act and parts of the health-care reform laws are indeed violations of some of the most basic freedoms afforded at the time of the signing of our constitution, over 200 years ago. The patriot act infringes on privacy, the new health-care laws infringe on liberty. These have nothing to do with which party signs on to either. Both R and D continue to follow the age old path to control the governed, instead of representing the very people that elected them. God Bless This Mess

Anything legitimate? Nowhere.

there has been a four-year track record with no verified civil liberties abuses.

In a recent oped featured in the USA Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner highlights the civil liberties safeguards found in the USA PATRIOT Act:

Zero. That's the number of substantiated USA PATRIOT Act civil liberties violations. Extensive congressional oversight found no violations. Six reports by the Justice Department's independent Inspector General, who is required to solicit and investigate any allegations of abuse, found no violations. Intense public scrutiny has yet to find a single civil liberty abuse. Despite many challenges, no federal court has declared unconstitutional any of the PATRIOT Act provisions.

Nice try though...

The evidence is everywhere! Go try to start your kid a bank account, or buy a book (records are kept of what you buy or read)
Take a check or cash to the bank of over $2500- you must bring proof of where you got the money! And god forbid you should ever have your wallet or purse stolen, you will be treated like the criminal because of no ID (hope your parents are alive as they are the only ones that can get you a new birth cert. and SS card)

There have been no instances of Patriot Act infrigements. Nothing that has been able to hold water once scrutinized. However the ACLU (the scariest organization in the States) has claimed it numerous times, all lacking validity.

I don't think you can find any.

But if you want to see some that were accused, call the ACLU.
