Situation - If a man (Bob) is in an accident and goes into a coma can the people that took his belongings keep them? I believe it was written and signed for this person to take the belongings while Bob was in the coma, but is it legal to not return these things to Bob once he recovers. I think the coma was 2 weeks or months. Is there a statue of limitations for a situation like this? (Illinois) I think it's been 7 or 8 years but I wasn't sure if it was too late to do something about it, if anything can be done. I tried looking up this information for someone but I'm having trouble. Thanks for any help.

I used to think it was one and the same but it obviously isnt. Justice can be meted out without the law and the law can be an *** when justice has not been seen to be done. What is your opinion?

My husband bought me a dog when we first got married, I loved this dog more than anything in the whole world..time passes me and hubby got a divorce and I moved.. that living situation didnt work out and I asked my Ex to take care of my dog for a few months for me (I knew he would take good care of her) anyways, I just found out that he gave Precious away! He gave her to his brother and his brother's wife -the wife, which hates me more than anyone on the face of the earth! What can I do? She was not a pure breed dog so I have no papers on her of that kind. I do have all my papers from vet visits with my name being on the reciepts as the owner. I also have TONS of picutres of me and her from the last 5 years. Do I have any legal rights or should I plot to steal her back? This woman never took care of her dogs and you could always see there rib cages. It is breakin my heart that my dog could possibly not be fed or showed the love she needs. Please just offer me your opinion... my heart is breaking! P.S. I'm married now and can provide her all the love and care she could ever need.

what their child is taught the moment they drop them off at a public school?

While the Supreme court has consistently held that parents have the right to direct the education of their children, they have also held that parents who send their children to public schools have no right to demand that their children be excluded from or be offered an alternative to any activity or aspect of the curriculum even when those objections are due to a firmly held religious belief.

Many school districts inform parents of some activities that are controversial such as sex education courses but according to the Supreme Court those school districts are neither required to inform parents of any activity nor to excuse students from participating in any activity.

if anybody has some information on how i can gain custody of my niece, please help. she is verbally abused...meaning when i was i little girl i had trouble with math, but i didn't want to ask my parents, 'cause they were really strict. i decided to ask my dad one time for help on a math problem and he told me i was good for nothing and called me stupid because i didn't know how to do the problem. i know i'm not stupid and that was 16 years ago, (i was 11 at the time),it still hurts sometimes that a parent could say that to a child and think its right. we used to live in the projects and they were really bad. gangs, killings, rapes. that place was horrible. my parents moved me and my brother and sister to another state to hopefully better ourselves, but the only ones that got better were me and my siblings. my parents seem to have gotten worse and stayed with their old ways . now my niece is paying for it with having to be called stupid and other horrible names. she's 12.......

I bought 1600 sq ft of hardwood flooring for a new house. Product was delivered and was a different wood than I had looked at an thought I was purchasing, so I told the carpet store to come pick it up and return my money. Finally after several weeks got my money back, but they never picked up the flooring. How long until it legally changes ownership. I've not written a letter asking for pick-up, only called and called. It's been 3+ weeks so far.

My husband and I brought our two teenage boys (ages 15 and 17) to a sports bar and grill to watch a football game we didn't get on TV. We ordered food and were not drinking. The boys wanted to play a game of pool and they said you had to be 21 to play. Really?

The government has limited funds when it comes to drug use. They put more money into treatment, though, than prevention. I believe this is the money factor. The reovery industry makes tons of money and creates tons of jobs. It does not, however, solve the drug problem. It waits for it to happen and then addresses it. Smoking was drastically curbed through education, so why isn't drug use?

Would you make new laws or revoke some old ones? Would you intervene in human follies? How would you deal with conflicting opinions? Where would you stand on personal responsibility?

Or do you believe Government and legislation is controlled by lobbyists and Special Interest Groups? If the latter, do you think this is good, or how should it be changed?

I face discrimination all the time because of job applications that ask if you've ever been convicted of a crime (felony or misdemeanor). Now, when I was younger they only asked if you've ever been convicted of a felony. I can understand about certain felonies, but misdemeanors? Come on. I was convicted of writing a bad check over 10 years ago. I paid my fines and made retribution. A year ago while searching for part-time work while attending college again, I could not for the life of me get a job. I'm highly trained and skilled with computers, but nobody would hire me. I finally resorted to applying for minimum wage jobs and even got denied them. Finally, I lied on the application and said I've never been convicted of a crime. Only then did I get a job.

At this job, I asked my boss what he looks for on an app. He said, a criminal record. If they have one, then file it away.

Whatever happened to do the crime, do your time? Will I be punished for a bad check for the rest of my life?

Three months ago I asked the question: "If you had to make the decision to save a newborn child or save an endangered species who would you save?" I also added a sidebar of, "what if," that child was Hitler and by killing him as a child, you would save countless human lives.... would you kill a child?

Beside the fact of what a person thinks about this question. Should it not be my right of "free speech", even if my opinion offends someone?

I will add I have no idea why Yahoo, (unless in cases of threats to another person) censor yahoo answers (the yahoo rules totally violate any Idea of "free speech")

Does anyone in the state of Idaho know if a unmarried teenage girl can force (tell the male) he has to sign his rights away as a father or she will charge him with rape? He is eighteen, she is fifteen and had a relationship for a year and she is three months along and no longer wants him in her life. He would like to be a part of the baby`s life and help her financially. She continually makes threats and changes from week to week about filing rape on him if he doesn`t sign his rights away.
