If it's not in the Constitution, why should we pay? We are taxed more now than in the entire history of this country.

Have you ever been to the grocery store in the afternoon and seen a lady in her slippers and her bathrobe and her hair all greasy with a grocery cart full of food going up to the counter and paying for her stuff with food stamps? There ain't nothing physically wrong with her! Why can't she get up off her fat rump and GET A JOB!! I've seen too many people like this, and I want to know if anyone else thinks that people like this should be forced to get a job instead of living off our hard-earned tax dollars!! Is anyone with me on this? What can we do to bring a reform to the way welfare is distributed? Why does it seem like the greatest percentage of welfare recipients are using it to support their filthy habits?? Give me some feedback here!

Paid CA lawyer $2K to file 2 documents in addition to retainer to handle case. Law changed after I paid but BEFORE he could file. I asked for refund of $1K for form he could not file. He sent me $250 with a stmt of how his office spent the balance! I have retainer not hrly contract. At his insistence he called a mtg, refusing to discuss issue on phone. Mtg ran 40mins; he's trying to charge me 90min. Issue was case-related; never told me he would charge me. Next mtg, also case-related trying to solve the problem. Never told me he'd charge me. He didn't show up (typical)-paralegal stepped in. Trying to bill me 1hr at lawyer rate for 40min mtg. Another mtg I had w/his paralegal he's billing me 1hr lawyer rate;mtg ran 20mins. Not told I would be charged for this either but not directly case-related. He was miffed I sent 20 emails in 5yrs & wrote he should have charged me extra for the emails. Emails sent because he didn't keep me apprised. Does he owe me balance for form he couldn't file?

my landlord gave me a 30 day notice on august 1st to pay all late fees plus the rent for august. She then later turned around and served me with an eviction on the 18th of the month. Dosen't she have to wait until the 30 days are up? She even has denied my rent and my late fees and i paid it on the 31st she sent it back to me in the mail.

It seems the best arguments for abortion is the my choice point of view and the my body point of view. Both of these are applible to drug abusers so why should they not be allowed to choose the path their life takes if this means a life of drug abuse who is the govenment to oppose it, it is their bodies and they are truly only hurting themselves? The same with prostitution. This is not a pro life/choice question. What do you think?

I would seriously like to know how those who describe themselves as Christian can support Bush.

- Even Bush now admits there was never any 9/11-Iraq connection or any WMDs. Isn't war contrary to what Jesus taught? Espcially a war under these conditions?

- Bush now admits that we have tortured people on his orders. This is Christian?

- Poverty is at its highest level in recent history. Bush and Congress constantly cut programs aimed at helping the poor and enact economic polocy which is harmful to those at the bottom. There are approximately 3000 references to helping the poor in the bible, so why does this 'Christian' administration do so little to help them?

- Bush has been caught in multiple lies. For example, the claims about Iraq and uranium from Niger, his connection to Abermof, his denial that the CIA tortured people, etc. Is lying really a Christian value?

Tell me, where in the teaching of Jesus is there support for his actions?

I recently visited Wisconsin with some friends and my friend's son, who is 17, jokingly asked a waitress for some alcohol. She said that if your Mom buys it, it was ok. I thought she was joking too, until she said that in Wisconsin it is now legal for someone who is not 21 to drink as long as the parents purchase the alcohol. Is this true? or Is this waitress mistaken on the law?

I was astonished at Lil' Kim showing up at the Video Music Awards being escorted by security and in an orange jumpsuit and cuffs. She has already shown her contempt for the law by purgery - now this act simply shows she has learned nothing. I believe another year in prison, a real prison might be just the punishment she needs. She needs to learn some respect and realize that SOME young girls look up to her as role model. She needs to act like she has some sense. What do you think, another year in prison or not?

You ask why? No I wasn't busted. Infact I graduated at the top of my class from LIU in NYC. I also received my masters in accounting at UNCC. I want to sue because anyone here can go to the magistrate and file a warrant against you. I had a nutty ex boyfriend that repeatedly wen to the magistrates and filed warrants against me for communicating threats. Ofg the course the cases were dismissed and eventually he was thrown in jail. However my mug shot still remains on the NC website for all to seer. It is totally embarassing considering that I am a professional. Yes you can have one of the charges expunged for a ridiculous fee between $750 and $1,000. I have been turned down for a luxury appartment and for a very prestigious posiyion with a top firm here in NC. Of course they wouldnt give it to me in writing but a little birgy told me that even thpough you were just arrested and not convicted they question your character for being arrested for communicating threats with a gun.

Years ago I was starting a small business. My friend had done really well in a business and offered some money to me as a gift to get started in my business. Now, after 3 years she is harassing me, daily by email to pay her back. I started sending her some money each month to make her happy, but she continues and now is threatening me with legal stuff. She also said she was going to send an email out to all my friends and family to let them know what kind of person I am.....I am confused. Is there anything legal about what she is attempting to do. I am sending her $500 per month and she is cashing the check. There is NO contract of any kind. It was simply a "gift" from a "friend"!!!
Help! Please!

Please explain how you compromise on the issue of torture. Nothing in the teachings of Christ, the Constitution of the United States, or the common sense of all humanity can justify torture. Vigillanity justice usually hangs half a dozen innocent people to get one guilty person hung. This is the reason we believe in an America based on law, not vigilantism. The days of old when all the bad guys were bold have passed with archies of gold, "Give me a Mac for my last snack!" No joke, cowpoke!

In one open house tour, my 2 years old son accidentally touched one statue they put right at the door entry and it smashed into pieces. The seller agent called me to ask for $500
damage.

My question is in the open house tour, if there is any damage caused by the tourists, do the tourists need to pay the damage? My friend told me that they should have some sort of insurance for the open house and I should not be liable to pay the damage. What
the appropriate way to resolve this?
