do you also have to disclose your criminal history to future employers after an expungement?

It depends on the laws of the relevant state.

In many states, once a criminal charge is expunged, it no longer counts as having occurred. So, under the laws of those states, the state no longer considers you to have ever had the conviction.

As far as employers, it depends. But generally, an employer can only ask you for what the official records show. Again, the laws vary by state, but it's often not considered lying on the application if you do not include charges that have been expunged, or sealed juvenile records.... check with an attorney in your state to verify what the specific laws of your state are.

I believe employment is the reason for one getting an expungement.
