No, the IRS cannot force anyone to do anything. It is a free country, you cannot be forced to work. If you don't work, you don't pay income tax. If you don't own land, you don't pay property tax. If you don't buy anything, you don't pay sales tax. If you don't die, you don't pay death taxes. If you renounce your citizenship and move out of the country, the IRS is absolutely powerless against you, unless you did so while facing a trial for tax evasion. If you don't vote, you have no right to complain!
But, if you work and don't pay income tax, the Courts, not the IRS, may throw you in prison, but you still don't have to pay taxes even then, just as long as you don't own anything that they can take to put towards the tax. Not only do you not have to pay taxes, but the government will give you three square meals a day and a dry bed to sleep in for free!
Good luck with that!

no, this is not the most we have been taxed. if public schools were financially supported as much as they should be, you would have known that. taxes run this country, pay the military, pay social security , give every citizen the opportunity to get an education and a polio shot, keep criminals locked up . that is just a short list of what your tax dollars do for you, we could next make a list of what your tax dollars has done for Iraq, Iran, china, japan, Germany, south Africa, Rwanda, ......it's not how much we pay, it's what the average citizen votes to do with that money that is the problem. not that helping other countries is wrong, it's just that as we all know the mismanagement of most of our tax dollars that occurs.

First, yes it is in the Constitution. The 16th Amendment:
"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived...."
Ratified 1913. Confirmed as ratified by the Supreme Court in 1916.
Second, Congress has enacted all of Title 26 of the US Code to specify the procedures and requirements for income tax.
And yes, it is ridiculous and way over the top -- but it is also the law, until the law gets changed.

You'd better believe it. Check this out: If the Federal Government sends you notice of a debt that you owe them, and you don't respond in a timely manner, that debt can be referred to the IRS for tax refund offset. They'll take the money out of your tax return, and if your tax return doesn't cover it they'll keep taking money out of your tax returns until the debt is paid. And yes, the IRS can seize your assets for failure to pay taxes or debts owed to the Federal Government also.

I live around Amish & Mennonite families. They pay NO taxes.
I dont mind paying taxes, I look at like paying rent to live in the USA, and frankly I would not want to live anywhere else, visit maybe, but USA for me...taxes dont bother me a bit.

The IRS can do what it wants to and if you dont pay they will simply take what is of value and if you have nothing of value then they will put you in jail.

In addition to taking money owed plus penalties and interest out
of any refunds, they can attach your wages , future raises , 401ks
and see to it that you sell anything of value to get their money.
I used to work in payroll and had to deal with court ordered
garnishments of all kinds.

Maybe you haven't heard the old saying,
