My grandmother left me an inheritance for college and I have been going to college for almost two years on loans and grants (graduating B.A. in 2009). My uncle is executor of the will where it states my inheritance is for college once the land sells or any part of the estate. Some of the land sold this past year and I never recieved a cent. My aunt (his wife- not by blood) wanted me to send proof I was going to college, so I sent it off a month ago. She also is trying to claim I can't get the money if I have a degree (I only have an A.A.) and it's not written anywhere in the paperwork. Now I am starting class in 2 weeks and I have not heard from my aunt or uncle. I think they are trying to scam me out of my inheritance. They personally don't like me, but that shouldn't keep them from giving me my inheritance. What should I do? Is there legal services for a poor college students? I'm really irritated with the whole mess and ready to sue them.

My wife works with a company that falls under the requirements of the FMLA. When you are hired, you sign a contract saying you will not sue for anything (kinda standard BS). A co-worker is pregnanat and the company told her that she is only allowed 2-months leave (supposedly per signed employee contract). Should she push for the 12-weeks? Hire a lawyer? BTW - the pregnant co-worker is Vietnamese, as is a substantial part of the workforce, but there is NO FMLA poster or information available in her language...another violation?

Any thoughts?

Consider: if the word "tack" was considered indecent and f*ck was proper (yahoo wont let me type it)... that would seem pretty ridiculous. So isn't it equally ridiculous that f*ck is indecent and "tack" is not? I mean, you can say "poop" all day... but if you say sh*t (censored by yahoo) it gets bleeped out on t.v. How ridiculous is that? And what about all the foolish Christians who believe that such "indecent" words are crimes against God? Thoughts please!

After all, alcohol is a drug too. So if drugs are outlawed, so too should alcohol be outlawed. And i know no one wants to go back to prohibition, so why not just legalize marijuana, etc.?

If the Republicans tried to I mpeach Bill Clinton for getting his knob polished. Then why isn't G.W Bush being Impeached for Not doing anything about Gas Prices? Is it because he owns stock in oil companies and is making millions as we speak?

Example: If someone murders a pregnant woman and her unborn child its double homicide, but no doctor is ever charged with homicide for an abortion.

Example: If you believe a woman can decide at any point whether she wants a child or not, what's to stop her from killing her child when he/she is a teenager... or other age?

Please, use LOGIC.

So my roommate moved out (not a happy ending), and I haven't spoken to her since (no desire to since she stole from me). She is apparently stupid enough not to change her address to her new apartment, so I am still getting her mails. Mostly junk but some are important. I just want to know if it's OK to just thraw them away. Yes I could be nice to return them, but I am not that nice. I figure since she doesn't care enough to change her address, why should I? Is there a law saying I have to do something with other people's mails?

And if not, what would be the reasons for it?

i am 16 yrs old and i got my drivers license december 1,2005. recently the law about curfew and driving people was changed. it used to be you only had to wait 6 months before you can drive your friends. also it was that for the first yr of your license your curfew was 12. now...... you have to wait a year to drive people (even if your 6 months were already up) and curfew is 11 not midnight. i have had my license 8 months and on the license card itself it says i only have to wait 6 months and curfew is 12, but the DMV sent out a letter that stated the above mentioned changes...
i wana know what would REALLY happen if i get pulled over with a friend in my car or if im out after curfew.

are there any california cops or CHP officers who can answer my qustion?????

Now this is actually a question I came up with from a movie I was watching the other night, it was actually a decent movie. If a adult, meaning over the age of consent willing rapes (shows the intent, leaves evidence, as well is tried AND convicted) a person UNDER the age of a consent. Will he/she be tried for Rape, as well Statutory Rape?

I actually wish I could remember the name of the movie so I could share it. Continentally, since these would be tried in a criminal court, would it be possible to take both cases to CIVIL court, and get the dead beat to pay for damages, or does that actually violate the amendment that states you can’t be tried for the same crime twice?

A friend of mines ex was supposed to have a vehicle sent to him by July 16th and it has still not left her possession. He needs to file contempt of court charges on her but does not have the money to go thru a lawyer and is not on good terms with his divorce attorney. He had to turn his divorce attorney into the bar association for not doing his job. Thanks.
