Consider: if the word "tack" was considered indecent and f*ck was proper (yahoo wont let me type it)... that would seem pretty ridiculous. So isn't it equally ridiculous that f*ck is indecent and "tack" is not? I mean, you can say "poop" all day... but if you say sh*t (censored by yahoo) it gets bleeped out on t.v. How ridiculous is that? And what about all the foolish Christians who believe that such "indecent" words are crimes against God? Thoughts please!

Those words are only "bad" words because people made them that way. It's pretty stupid, I think. I am a Christian, though and I don't think that so called swear words have a thing to do with religion. All He asks is that we don't take His name in vain. But I don't say G.D. anyways, because it's offensive.

First of all, it's not nice to call someone foolish just because you don't agree with them.

Christians (and everyone else) are entitled to their own opinions and believes about what is indecent and what is a violation of religious doctrine. Fortunately, we live in a country that (for now) doesn't allow enacting religious doctrine as a matter of law.

Censorship can only be done where there is a sufficient government reason (goal), and the restrictions imposed are narrowly tailored to achieve that goal. That's why pretty much anything goes on cable TV or satellite radio, which are subscription based. But because the government controls the airwaves, there can be more restrictions placed on broadcast TV or broadcast radio (AM/FM) since those are subject to government regulation as a public resource.

Also, remember that 1st Amendment protections only apply against government action (directly against federal, and through the 14th Amendment against states). Yahoo is not a government agency, so they can do anything they want.

That all being said, I wish people (as a whole) were mature enough to not be offended just because someone says something they don't like. But that's not reality, so we have to live with things they way they are until people grow up.
