No an American can not buy land in Mexico. You can lease it for 100 years but you can not own it.

Americans can lease homes and land in Mexico but unless they are related to a citizen of Mexico you cannot buy. But you get a 99 year lease when you build there.

I assume you mean "OLD Mexico" as we used to call it. An American can buy homes and land anywhere.

Yes and then after you do the government can come and take it.
My friends family bought land over there lawyers and everything. it was all legal and the government took it. Didn't get there money back either.

Yes.
But you cannot nationalize a new car, or a car more than five years old, brought in from the US.
They have new cars and too many old cars. Others are taxed heavily as are their own new cars. Generally double the value.

Yes, but according to Mexican Law it can be repossessed by the government if necessary. Doesn't happen that often usually in criminal cases etc.

no you can rent land for up to 99 years but they can take it away at anytime. especially after you have improved the property value
