Since I am a beleiver in the commandment of not worshipping idols, why do my taxes support monuments such as mount rushmore, lincoln monument, Statue of liberty, etc?
Should I not have a right to refuse to pay taxes if my taxes are going against my freedom of religion rights?

Global inner-office email sent regarding the above......this employee works in another building, wears a mask "for effect", has been seen OUTSIDE (of all places!) WITHOUT the mask, etc. If this were legit on their part, I'd be more sympathetic. However, I can't believe, since where one works is by choice, and they can't control other places they frequent, such as restaurants, stores, etc., this can possibly be enforced. Anyone else out there encounter this? Surely we other workers have rights as well! (If it makes a difference, I work in a state government office with 4 different buildings.)

I wanted to attend this wedding only because my daughters were so excited to be flower girls!! I am not on speaking terms with my ex-husband or his family, however, I felt I needed to be present for my children. After all, this was a big day for them, too. My plans were to sit quietly in the back of the church and leave as soon as it was over. I had no intention of "causing a scene". I am a professional lady and am always quiet and reserved. When I arrived, a family member and church member met me in the parking lot and told me I had to leave or they would call the police. Does anyone know the legality of the situation? The wedding announcement in the local newspaper said---friends and family invited. As you can tell this family has NO class and certainly no manners to speak of. Please let me have some imput....it will all be appreciated even if you express opposing views.

"BHUBANESWAR, India (Reuters) - India on Sunday test-fired its longest-range nuclear-capable ballistic missile, the Agni III, which can hit targets deep within China, a senior defence ministry official said."

This thing currently has a range of 3000 km - any other country that flirts with Nuclear capability or the mechanisms necessary to deliver them are stamped on pretty quickly by the west - Why not India?

Remember - India already has the warheads.

The UN/Nato, whoever should reign them in pdq, or leave other aspirant nuclear nations to get on with it, then we can all have a whale of a party in hell on earth - heaven can wait.

How will affect your patronage to bars in your state that don't allow smoking. Do you agree that the government has the right to take away your personal freedom such as lighting up a smoke in a public place ? I wonder how Benjamin Franklin would answer that question.

I have been taken back to child support court by my ex. I have filed a counter motion along with 4 other motions and one for a continuance requesting that my ex have to provide the court with absolute proof of his income(self-employed truck driver). The judge denied my request for a continuance and all he said was that I needed to provide him with discovery at the hearing next week. Does anyone know what this means and what is it that I should be doing? Is there a certain form I need to fill out, or what? I really need help with this and have no money to get an attorney or even ask questions of one. What is discovery? If anyone knows, I will be very grateful. Thanks for your help in this.

I am interested in changing my full legal name in order to protect my family from a very cold and callous ex-hubby who has threatened us on several occasions. There has been a restraining order, but the police do very little to uphold it and I live in fear on a daily basis, so I have decided to change our whole identity and move to another state.

I am a single mom of 3 small children with not a whole lot of money to spend. I hear name changes are very expensive, but I am very interested in learning the following:

*What steps and procedures are involved?
*How much will it cost me?
*How long does it take to complete the changes?
*What forms of ID are needed?
*Will I have to hire an attorney?
*How do I switch over my new name to my Social Security Card and will I need some form of court documentation for proof of the change?

Thanks to everyone in advance for your help. Your valuable time and support in this matter is extremely appreciative and I am deeply honored.

A US federal judge has ordered to confiscate and put on auction a collection of invaluable Persian relics, containing ancient tablets dating back to 2500 years ago lent to Chicago University in 1933, to compensate victims of the 1997 bombing in Israel. Ignoring Iran’s undisputed right over these artifacts, the Judge ordered to confiscate Iran’s assets in the US, including its ancient artifacts in Chicago U, and put them on auction to compensate Israeli families who lost members in the bomb explosion under the pretext that Iran is a state sponsor of terrorism! I believe that politics and cultural heritage are two separate issues, and it is not right to deprive the world from its cultural heritage due to political disputes. Read what I wrote on CHN (Iran's Cultural Heritage News Agency) by clicking on the link below let me know what you think: http://www.chn.ir/en/news/?section=2&id=6470

IMPORTANT: READ THESE DETAILS: OTHERWISE YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO ANSWER AS WELL AS YOU COULD: What happened was I let this guy borrow it. Afterward when I asked for it back he said my friend had it, and gave me a fake phone number. I asked my friend and he said he had never had it.
Now after the end of school I was able to get the guy's number and I talked to his dad. He said that the guy had one already, and that my friend (same friend as before) had it. I wanted to call the police but my mom will not let me. I live in Louisville Kentucky. The guy's name is Brice Armour. He lives in the Partridge Meadows apartments off of LaGrange Road in Lyndon. If you could help in any way please do!

Do you like the seatbelt laws? Do you think the big insurance companies did some lobbying to get this law passed? Seems to me like they are the only ones to benefit (financially) by this law. I know we are slowly giving up all of our freedoms and rights in this country, but I hate this law the most of all. It gives people a sense of false security, it probably has caused many wrecks by people trying to fasten it while driving. What about a side impact accident? wouldn't it be better to be pushed away from the car slamming into you than be held in place where you can't move? This is a stupid law. Do you agree?
