I personaly think that it is not good for me to have to work hard to feed somone that dose not work at all. Communism only works in really small groups and not for long then. Most of the comunes of the 60s in the USA went under during the 70s with the groth of the computer. The ones that were good at writing the software saw how good the money was and went out on there own to make the big money leaving the "Family " to deal with there own poverty.
In a Demoracy you are the one that sets the rules for yourself.
It is up to you as an individual to do or not do what you need to make your own living or stay in the guter.
I am not and will not be responcible for others that refuse to do for themselves.

I don't grant your premise, because you are comparing apples and cucumbers. Democracy is a government form based on might-makes-right majority rule. Communism is an economic model where ownership of property and assets are shared. You can easily have a communist democracy, because the property ownership model and the decision making process have nothing to do with one another.

FYI, almost every family household operates as a communist organization. The assets are held by the family, and shared by the family, according to need. That's communism.

Communism doesn't tend to work on the big scale, because people end up getting greedy. Just like democracy doesn't work as well on the small scale, because there isn't the collective mass available to impose their decisions.

Because democracy is based on all power belonging to the people alone & not govt, that govt exists only so long as and with what powers granted by the people with many checks and balances to prevent it from abusing the few powers entrusted to it. The problem with democracy is exactly that it is dominated by those checks & balances, including an advisarial political system that requires significant argument over any issue & compromise to reach a decision.

Communism is based on a a utopian ideal that because all people are created equal that they should remain & share in all resources equally, regardless of unequal effort. The system also has at its heart that the masses are ignorant & incapable of ruling themselves, but that a strong central govt with ultimate power over the people can guide & protect society for the benefit of all. Of course this it not only unnatural and incapable of survival, but prone to exploitation & abuse especially without checks & balances by the people over their govt. How can something serve you if you don't control it. You can be a slave to such a system, but never master of it.

It isn't.

When "democracy" ( or rampant capitalism) is at it's worse, that's when the people- as in the majority of the population are desparate for another way.

What we call communism is usually socialism or dictatorship in action.

We are not truly free here in this democracy. I am free to starve to death, die of any medical problem, and be homeless. I'm also free to be ignorant. Most supposed communist countries don't do their people like that.

LOL.. don't confuse the two; democracy is a political, whereas communism is an economic system.

Capitalism VS communism OR democracy vs dictorship!

Nothing could be worst than communism because you have no voice, you have no laws to protect you. Because we think or we know our Democratic System isn't working the way it should,"FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE", it's still better than communism. Communism does not allow a person to choose and a Democratic System does, even it's a broken system, it allow avenues for people to choose.

Gee, you sound like Winston Churchill who said democracy was a terrible system, but it was much better than the alternatives (which I suppose included Communism).
