I had to go to Truiency Court with one of my children, the judge told me she didn't care what I had to say and infact she didn't want to hear what I had to say. When I was asked a question, if she didn't like the answer she told me that if I didn't stop talking she was going to have me put in jail. She didn't let me tell my side or tell anything, I have medical problems and on medication (I wont get into what she said about that, except she thinks I'm on illegal drugs) I have to take Pain medication for my feet and back, and have panic attacks when in crowds, she doesnt know any of this and she has sentenced me to go to school with my child.

I'm no law student, but I was always under the impression that all people are equal under the law and nobody was above the law. If this is so, why are racially aggrevated and homophic offences given harder sentences?

A racially or homophobic agrevated GBH carries a harder sentence than just a normal GBH even though the injuries are the same. This seems unfair to me.

Why does it matter whether the attack was motivated by race or homophobia, or whether it was a white straight person they just didn't like?

Surely having harder sentences for these crimes will lead to a bias justice system and create more divisions in society. Why can't murder just be murder??

Also can a black person be convicted of a racially aggrevated offence against a white person for hating whites? Has it ever happened if it is possible?

Personally, I'm undecided. Although I'd like to see a more rehabilative approach, it is a reality that some criminals will never be fit to reenter society and not reoffend. What do you think?

He has a knife in his hand. You have a 9mm in your pocket. What do you do? Would you shoot this person, yes or no. Nothing else. No answers that you would scale a 15 foot wall while this person is only ten feet away.

Hypothetically, let’s say I’m golfing and I’m in the fairway, someone hits from another direction and hits me and I receive an injury (use your imagination). Can I sue (with a chance of winning) the golf course or the actual golfer themselve? Or is it once I step onto the course I have acknowledged that the course will not be liable for any injury acquired while golfing, same to the golfer who hit me?

Shouldn't this have been made permanent? Is there a reason they only let it go for 25 more years?

Recently in my Sociology class I discovered that women receive .76 to every dollar men receive. This is astonishing to me that the legislation was passed for equal pay 40+ years ago and things are still unequal.

One more question....Could you honestly look your mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, significant other in the eye and tell them they are only worth75% to you and the world?

I heard on the news the other day, and I'm not sure if it is nation wide, but in order to prosecute someone for attempted child molestation over the internet, email isn't valid enough. An explicate picture, pornography, has to be sent as well. No matter how graphic the email is, it isn't enough to bring a pedophile up on charges. And to really dig into this, the law was changed because an attorney was caught sending verbally explicate emails to a minor and appealed over and over.

In the state of Oregon, what does it mean when you are charged with Theft 1 and aggregated Theft. A person was picked up after 7 years of apparently having a warrant out for their arrest and not knowing it...this person worked for a large corporation located in that state and thought that when they left the company it was under a mutual aggreement. Only to be picked up after 7 years for these crimes in another state. and then extradited back to Oregon, with the charges being Theft 1 and aggregated Theft? I need to understand these charges to possibly understand what may happen afterwards.

A husband recently died, no will, in estate, has two grown 30+ children from first marriage, first wife deceased in 80's, second wife has to go to Probate to get house deed in her name, house is the only "estate" there is, is under $50,000, so it is legally the wife's anyway, she has first rights to be Administrator of estate, "kids" have secondary rights. The renounciation form states that they know they could be Administrator but do not wish to pursue it. This is the husband and second wife's matrimonial house and the "kids" did not live there. What avenues are available if they won't sign,do they have to, is there a time limit on their rights to be admin., can they be forced to sign or become admin. ?
