He has treated her horribly since she decided to stay w/me. He used to call 2 X per day, now...NEVER, He won't answer if he sees our #. Her grandparents ignore her, stopped calling, don't pay for chores on the farm(they used to) won't take her calls & Not 1 replies to her e-mail. She asked her stepdad to adopt her but her father's favorite past time is making me miserable. So he won't allow it, unless he realizes he won't have to pay support. Can she get a lawyer & demand it or can we change her last name legally, w/out his approval?

received this order from the judge in the mail. He set a hearing for dissolution with child and I don't know what that means. I am also attempting to stop my ex from seeing my son anymore.
We are scheduled to go to family court for many issues in august. I was under the impression that the visitation and custody issues would be decided then. Is it unusual to hold a second hearing, with the same judge, and call it a dissolution with child?
Any help would be greatly appreciated on this.
Thank you.

THE UNCONSCIOUSNESS FROM THE PSYCHIC ACTIVITY TO THE
CONSCIOUS MIND
BY: Allan

The dawn of humankind brought perplexing ideas that would later spawn off the understanding of the reality of the human mind. We still have failed to fully explain the comprehension of consciousness, but we have settled close. The unconscious mind has given us a superb understanding on how the unconscious influences our daily choices and ideas. Along side the unconscious, the psychic activity, collective unconscious, and consciousness plays an important role in what makes up our reality.
“The unconscious mind is that part of the mind wherein psychic activity takes place of which the person is unaware”, according to dictionary.com. When mentioning psychic activity we must detach our selves from how the word is presented today. The modern view of “psychic” is broadly viewed as a person that can communicate with the dead and/or knowing// A preview of my theory.

All punishment has an element of revenge in it.
In order for ANY punishment to have value, it must be at least as bad as the crime, or else crime pays. (steal $5million and pay $5 thou fine, why not steal? pay $5 million for stealing $5 thou, better not steal!)
40 yrs ago, a youth that stole a car for a quick joyride might see 20 yrs in prison. car theft was relatively rare.
today it is a few months at best. That crime is rampant!
give a killer LIFE? no way! give them death!
Remember if the death penalty is on the books, the CRIMINAL chooses to be punished by commiting the crime that brings that punishment upon him
The Bible says that the law is not written for the just, but for the unjust and lawless.
The bible (new testament) is pro Death penalty (not eye 4 eye tooth 4 tooth) but it states that the king does not hold the power of the sword for no reason
(the government hold the power of death when warranted

My boyfriend's driver's license was taken by the state of Michigan for "life" 27 years ago at the age of 18. He got two drunk driving tickets in less than 12 hours. Doesn't the punishment seem extreme for an 18 year old, especially 27 years ago?(seems worse than the jail/prison time one would get today for same offense!) He says "life" is 50 years and should be eligible for a driver's license in 2013. Can this be reversed somehow? It makes it difficult for him to find/keep steady employment!

I think that the law is pretty clear and it is this:
If you (enter crime here) then you have chosen to forfiet your life by means of the death penalty.
The subsequent commision of the crime is a tacit acceptance of both the law and the penalty.
The arguement of 'it is wrong for the state to kill if it is wrong for the individual to kill" is erroneous.
There are severe enough crimes that cannot be paid for in any other way.
If I steal, I can replace. If i cause hurt, I can pay medical bills. I can pay restitution for many things. But for Death I cannot repay. I cannot fix it and I have coause the society such grevious harm that there is NO penalty other than death that is just.

What do you think?

Okay. I work in a day care center. and I was told after turning a child in timeout to face the wall that that was considered corporal punishment and that we cant do that anymore... And so I'm honestly wondering why that is so, considering there is no corporal (bodily) involvement at all... can anyone give me any ideas on why we cant turn children towards the wall anymore? Or where i can find an official list of what the recent do's and dont's of corporal punishment are? thanks.

Truly, I thought it would be legal by now, regulated and taxed....Why would it not be? I don't buy the theory it is a "threshold drug".

My friend and I were trying to get cheap theater tickets today, and after losing a couple $25 lotteries, we decided to try for standing-room, thinking it would be a great deal for my friend since she uses a wheelchair to get around and therefore wouldn't have to stand. Well, one theater was willing to let her pull up behind an ailse so long as we didn't tell the Fire Department, but another one told her she couldn't do standing room because it was fire hazard to block the aisles. Since standing room tickets are the cheapest tickets they offer, they're effectively requiring handicap people to pay more than non-handicap people. Isn't that considered discrimination?

Suppose also that you are offering to register people because you want to make a positive difference in the world, and you have no problem registering people who are Democrat or Republican or Green Party or Independent...but the Nazi flag on the wall strikes fear into your stomach.

Your grandparents died in a concentration camp; this man wasn't responsible but people that share his values were. Yet, you want a country in which everyone participates in the political process and you believe in equality/not discriminating.

What do you do?

This is a dilemma my mother was once faced with, and she has often asked me how I would deal with such a situation.

I think I know how I would react, but I'd love to hear how other people feel about it, as it deals with such complex issues like free speech, the desire to have active voters, party politics, racism/sexism/homophobia, etc.

Every body knows that some good and bad behaviour and capabilities are more common in some races than in others.Yet If some one comments on that, or starts making comparisons, he/she is met with cries of racism. I think as long as one does not advocate something unjust to other races, he/she should be allowed that freedom of speech. What do you think?

this isn't the case of rape or whatever you can think of...this is a woman found out she got pregnant by her boyfried, instead of telling him about it, she gets an abortion...what if the boyfriend wanted the baby...i know its a womans body...but it takes two to make the baby...why doesn't it take to two to decide for the abortion...i think it is a BIG lie that many woman groups claim its thier body its their choice...how did you get pregnant...not by yourself...so you should be responsible for the decision alone...if the woman decides to have the baby the man has to support it...the man never had a choice in the matter...where is the mans choice in abortion...please don't say when he decided to have sex...again it takes TWO...a woman can have a "choice" to have an abortion without telling the father...but the father cannot have a "choice" in it nor have a choice to not support it or not...where is gender equality...9 months of 900(75 yrs of life) months isn't a long time..

I have just gotton back from a day trip to London. I was near the underground and there was a crowd gathering watching a street magician so I went to have a look. I saw a man aged about 20 unzip a ladys backpack and take out her purse. I grabbed his other arm and put it behind his back and told him to give here it back, she turned around and took it back and thanked me. The young man then violently struggled and ended up I believe breaking his arm. The police arrived and I was arrested for assault, along with the man for theft. Even though the lady and several people argued my case I was taken to a cop shopa nd held for 7 hours. I am from Hull and now the case had been transferred to Hull and I have to appear before a magistrate next week, I was charged with assault and battery, or something similar. Does anyone think this is right, should I have just turned a blind eye.

was told in Jan. widow's disability was overlooked and would be corrected in approx. 2 weeks. That was 6 mo. ago. Can not get answers nor will dis. lawyer help now that he has been paid. Am getting Dis. on my SS#, but should have gotten it on widow's. I've called them at least 18 times/diff. answer each time. Was awarded widow's going back to my disb. date-9/25/02. Have called every number can find regarding SS payments-would like to write to judge who gave award, but no address avaiable. Have asked time and time again for any numbers I can call to get help. Am always told to give it a couple more weeks. my 1st award was dated 11/4/05 (wrong case) should have been the higher of mine or my husband's (widow's) was told it was overlooked and would be corrected immediately. It is now almost 7/06. Any suggestions? Thank you
