Yes of course juries give special consideration to criminals with mental illnesses because the criminals with mental illnesses they also have a right and the law to protect them .
And juries they have to be consider them also bring them to specialist to look at the criminals with mental illnesses because
some criminals they just lie .
and we can't not say that this Criminal is mental illnesses but ,everthing shuold be discover be the docter

It depends on the severity of the mental illness. There are some illnesses that do not cloud one's ability to determine "right" from "wrong."
An impairment must be proven through diagnosis and observation and a solid case established by the defending attorney.
