They don't get removed. I could contact the Department of Revenue and get a copy of your driving record, and the DWI got 10 years ago will still be on it. But if you want a particular traffic ticket off your record, I can probably get it removed for you.

I don't know about Missouri, but it usually takes 3-5 years in Illinois. Try looking at the Missouri DMV website to see if it says anything about this.

Although the points will drop off in a couple of years, the record of the infraction and conviction are permanent.

If you haven't seen the judge yet, you can always ask him/her for defered adjudication for 6 months. You still pay the ticket but it won't go on your record if you can avoid getting another ticket for six months.
