President Felipe Calderon, today blasted our deportations and said "Mexico does not end at its borders." And speaking to Mexicans in the US many of them here illegally he told them "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico."

That sounds pretty imperialistic to me. What would happen if we sent millions of Americans to another country and said that the US extends into your country?

President Felipe Calderon blasted U.S. immigration policies on Sunday and promised to fight harder to protect the rights of Mexicans in the U.S., saying “Mexico does not end at its borders.”

The criticism earned Calderon a standing ovation during his first state-of-the nation address.

“We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers,” he said. “The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle … for their rights.”

He also reached out to the millions of Mexicans living in the United States, many illegally, saying: “Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico.”

Interesting, isn’t it? Calderon can’t even make that boast good in his own country! Millions of Mexican citizens live in areas not controlled by the Mexican government but by vicious, murdering drug gangs. His control over his own capitol is also in question since the speech where he uttered those inflammatory words was not delivered at the Mexican Capitol building, the San Lazaro, where tradition dictates it be given, but rather at the National Palace (Palacio Nacional). This is due to the opposition’s blocking him from making the speech at the capitol, claiming Calderon rigged the election that brought him to power.

Of course, he’s counting on the fact that his fighting words will create a backlash from illegal immigrant opponents which will gain sympathy and support for the lawbreakers from legal Mexicans and naturalized citizens here in America. This will only serve to put more pressure on the Democrats and President Bush to pass an amnesty bill sooner rather than later.

No doubt, many will overreact to Calderon’s carefully calculated insult to American sovereignty and thus play into his hands. But actually, this is truly pathetic from the Mexican President. He is reduced to political tricks in order to get the American government to acquiesce to immigration reform.
He can brag as much as he wishes about Mexico claiming sovereignty over anywhere in the US that an illegal immigrant is breaking the law. But in the end, his rhetoric is as empty as his head if he thinks that anyone actually believes such nonsense.
If Mexicans living in America are part of Mexico then let Mexico’s national healthcare system pay their medical bills and mortgage defaults and let Mexico incarcerate the rapists, drug dealers, and other felons living north of the nonexistent border.

Oh yeah, and those anchor babies aren’t Americans after all, are they???

so here`s the deal:

i just don`t get it- on what basis do you LEGAL people keep whining about how you are tired of covering the azzes of illegals with your TAXES?

as an illegal person she has no acces to ANY of those social benefits...we work at the same place and she gets paid twice as less as an illegal...ok, she gets to keep all her money- she doesn`t pay no taxes....but then agian SHE DOESN`T HAVE NO SOCIAL BENEFITS AND SHE IS OK WITH IT..

like she`s got some health troubles- it means she has to pay 200 everytime she goes to see a doctor, 700 bloodwork and other med. bills..like last time her med bills totaled 5360...though she is paying all of that...

the question is- HOW ARE YOUR TAXES BENEFITING HER? she just doesn`t need them...

now..i know for a fact that some Shaniqua`s got 3 kids and doesn`t work at all...if anything, they start whining about discrimination and all that...am not saying all of them...but enough of them..like there was a black girl who was

I really hate the term "Anchor Baby" because I'm old enough to remember the stigma of" Illegitimate " or Another term "Bas*ard" child. I was a bas*ard child and it was living H*ll in my life. Is it fair to put the CHILD thru that stigma? And I really don't care what you think of the parents and who's to blame. These are children just like I was who had no say in their births. Can't we just say "the undocumented's child"? I'm sorry but I just can't be cruel mentally or physically to a child and rest easy at night.

If children of illegals born here are denied citizenship, then that would help with illegal immigration. It might be worth changing it so that only children of people here legally could become citizens. Crossing the border pregnant should be discouraged and not incouraged for the health of the mother and child.

face it the government is never going to listen to what you have to say about illegal immigrants, they will never be deported and they will always keep coming here, mark my words in 20 years nothing will have changed.

Look I don't want to say that all antis are facists and racists because I know that is unfair and untrue. But it seems to me that many of the things what you say about today's illegals in the US can be said right back at you by NDNs. How do you consider that?

The resolution—sponsored by Republican Reps. Virgil Goode Jr. of Virginia, Tom Tancredo of Colorado, Walter Jones of North Carolina, and Ron Paul of Texas—expresses "the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union (NAU) with Mexico or Canada."

Should God be brought to task for his immigration policies?
I don't necessaraly belive in God or Heaven but I see that many on here do.
Many claim that God wants us to allow illegals because they are humans too.
Doesn't your Heaven have the strongest immigration requirments.
Is it fair that only people who are not criminals can enter.
Suicide is concidered to be not waiting your turn and violating the rules, so you get damned to hell and are not allowed in.
The rules for getting into heaven are very strict, and if you violate those rules you are damned for all eternity.
Don't you think rather than stating that God wants to allow illegals, he really wants them treated as harshly as possible?
Either Heaven should be opened for all with no requirements or god should be condemed just like anyone else who tries to enforce rules.
Question: is it right to expect people to follow laws or should everyone be allowed to disregard the law?
What would Jesus say?
