About 12.3% of the population of the United States is hispanic. The last census counted illegal aliens.
Among the "hispanics" are people who are Spanish/european, Brazilian, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Central American, and in some cases Fillipinos call themselves "hispanic" because the Phillipines was a Spanish territory, their langauge is a dialect of Spanish and many of them have Spanish blood.
That 12.3% also includes persons who are mixed, like 1/4 Mexican, or even less, and identify themselves as "hispanic".
That would make about 36,900,000 (almost 37 million) "hispanics" in the USA, out of 300 million in population.
Of the illegal aliens, estimates vary.
The last census put the number of illegal aliens at 10 million.
It is probably higher now, but we will not know until the next census, which is pretty soon.
Some estimates are 12 million illegal aliens.
Statistics show that about 60% are Mexican, and the rest are OTM (Other than Mexican).
Using the higher estimate of 12 million illegal aliens in total, that would be 7.2 million Mexican illegal aliens.
There are illegal aliens from other hispanic/latino nations.
A good estimate might be to add 50% of the remaining illegal aliens at least are hispanic, considering the proximity of the USA to hispanic nations in the western hemisphere.
That would add another 2.4 million nonMexican hispanic illegal aliens.
I would make an educated guess, based on known statistics that anywhere from 8.5 million to 10 million illegal aliens are "hispanic".
Sorry, I forgot to add the total in relation to the population.
That would make about 3.3% of the total population are "hispanic illegal aliens".

No one can say what the percentage is. Anyone that says they know what the percentage is,can only guess. One good way to find close numbers is, stop putting information out in all the different languages, this is the USA, English is the spoken language, when they start looking for help, then you'll find numbers to be recorded. Another thing is that why is it just the Hispanics everyone is so concerned about, there are other people that before they leave their countries to come here, are informed where to go to get benefits when they arrive. I'm not Hispanic,so forget that idea, but where are these people of other countries when help is needed, they aren't willing to do the work that Hispanics can do in different farm jobs. The Hispanics aren't taking jobs away, they are the only ones that are doing the work because no one knows or wants to do the labor and work they do. I'd like to see a way that the government would allow and give everyone that has Hispanics and people of other countries working for them a way to record just what type of work these people are doing and what the percentage is of other people in the States doing the same type of work..

As of year 2000 census, 35.3 million hispanics in the USA
Source: http://www.census.gov/population/pop-profile/2000/chap02.pdf
Year 2004 projections for Hispanic population in year 2010
47.75 million

20 million illegals in the USA, currently
Source: http://www.theamericanresistance.com/ref/illegal_alien_numbers.html
Various Aired statements by government persons has led us to believe the upwards of 80% are from Latin America so this equates to @ 16 million illegals
As census does not take one's legality into account and using a linear growth, the percentage of illegals is @ 36.78% of the hispanic population in 2007

I don't think it is tracked by Hispanics v. non-Hispanics. I have seen it tracked by foreign nationals from a particular country. I've seen government estimates that 50% of foreign national Mexican citizens are in the country illegally, and somewhere I saw combined Latin American national figure. Hispanic isn't relevant to the equation given that that is a 'base ethnicity' of our population, not a nationality.

Wild guess, if there are 40 million Hispanics and about 11 million undocumented that would be about 27%

Well there is someone on here who keeps talking about how there are 42 million Hispanics in the US (could be wrong) But I do know that out of 20 million illegals...80% are Hispanics. So you do the math.

It's most likely in the double-digits, and that's a frightening percentage - these people simply don't care about our laws, and need to be stopped.
