how can they claim to support America while praising walmart, and destroy the manufacturing jobs in the US and allow companies to hire illegals?

Neither the right nor the left is monolithic. The Republicans are mostly made of two groups of people - cultural conservatives (who, like labor union types on the left insist you buy Americans), and free enterprisers (who think everyone should conduct his business however he thinks is best). Immigration is THE issue that could destroy the Republican Party from within.

How are you going to distinguish between companies that outsource because they are truly expanding their business overseas from those that outsource merely to find cheap labor or lower taxes? When McDonald's forms a subsidiary in a foreign country and hires workers there, it's usually becuase they want to franchise to restaurants in the foreign country. Nothing wrong with that. EDIT: You've still got a problem. While the foreign subsidiary selling Big Macs sells none in the US, other companies have much more complicated reasons for expanding markets overseas. They may have a really good business reason for moving part of their operations to another country, and that reason may have nothing to do with the workers themselves. If you're a coffee grower, you might sell 99% of your product in the U.S. But there might be a good reason to put your plant overseas--mainly, the fact that coffee does not grow in the United States.

the immigration issue is the one that conservatives have the greatest selective memory on.

They had a 12 year hold on majority in congress yet they never worked out a plan to deal with immigration and the border pre and after 9/11. When the democrats have a chance at winning the election, this issue is used as a scare tactic to rally the people.
It was under their watch that 9/11 happened and they never took actions to secure the border or to fix the system.

It all boils down to money.

The unions had a lot to do with "destroying" US manufacturing, just look at the automotive industry.

Different right. I'm a buy American right, and I assure you I'm against outsourcing and illegal immigration. I'm begining to think conservatives bonding with big business was an accident of history, but that is an entirely different issue.

It's not only the right who are reaping the profits from this crime against the American people.

More than a few left-wingers are simultaneously slapping us on the *** while we're getting screwed.
