"A church that is sheltering an illegal immigrant from Mexico and her U.S.-born infant son will be billed nearly $40,000 for city police services during a weekend protest by anti-illegal immigration activists, officials said.

Mayor Paul Miller, who called United Church of Christ congregants irresponsible for "harboring an illegal immigrant," told the City Council Monday that he was ready to issue the $39,306 invoice right away.

Officials said that the church's public announcement that it would shelter an illegal immigrant provoked protesters to come and create a possible disturbance, which required the police presence."

ST. LOUIS, MO (2007-09-18) A man whose SUV went out of control and slammed into a restaurant's outdoor dining area in Clayton on Tuesday is an illegal immigrant from Mexico.

Three people were injured in the wreck at Il Vicino restaurant, at the corner of Central & Maryland.

Sergio Lopez told police he was blinded by the sun and lost control of his Ford Expedition.

Two of the injured were treated and released. A third is hospitalized in fair condition.

Lopez also had a minor injury. He was ticketed for driving without a license, no proof of insurance and making an improper turn.

Immigration Customs Enforcement also issued a federal detainment order on Lopez. He is to be held at the St. Louis County Justice Center upon his release from the hospital.

A forum member with a "pro"-slant asked a question last night re: the situation in Wisconsin with the no-match letters where employers of illegals are being notified of social security fraud. She mentions one particular "tale of woe" with an illegal who is using someone else's social security number. She says "One gentleman has worked there for 14 years, is a supervisor, married to a US citizen, and, has 3 young children. I can't imagine what he will do. He was worried he won't be able to find a comparable job to keep up with the mortgage and bills."

(And don't say the price of tomatoes is cheaper because that's a misnomer--cheap illegal labor increases Agriculture profits, it doesn't decrease the price of our tomatoes).

They cost us about $25k in taxpayer money per year per family in social services used, crowd our freeways, trash our communities, make our schools ESL-teaching centers, cause our emergency rooms to close, use a hugely disproportionate amount of public aid, stress our natural resources and physical infrastructures, contribute massively to crime and prison overcrowding, and for the most part refuse to assimilate while remaining loyal to their home countries to the tune of grossly disrespecting the U.S. whilesending all their earnings home.
Many come here with the sole intention of having anchor babies and leeching off of taxpayer services.
What the H*L* are we allowing our Senators and "represenatatives" to get away with in supporting the current amnesty bills they want to cram through again? WAKE UP AMERICANS!

For the last 3 years my husband and I have filed our taxes separately as ‘head of household’ each. We were in a rough phase in our relationship and though not divorced; he moved in with his girlfriend and claimed her kids on his taxes.
Now things are ok again and we moved in back together.
The problem is that my immigration officer wants both our taxes for the last 4 years. How can I explain why we filed separately instead of joint?
I have 30 days to submit form I-1722 for years 2003 to present for me and spouse.
