God forbid that anyone post a question that might offend some minority in Y!A. (note sarcasm) I am so sick of the political correctness and hate mongering in here.
Sorry you got violated.
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Edit: I almost forgot! Recuerde el Alamo! How's THAT for PC?!? Come and get me, General Lopez de Santa Anna!

They recently instituted a policy where "trusted" members of the community can report things. As near as I can tell, what that means is the mods don't even bother to read the question or answer - they just delete it. I have recently had a question restored, although I ended up sending the daily e-mails that someone above mentioned as well as posting on the violation appeals board and pretty much making a royal nuisance of myself. I had a question deleted yesterday, and I'm not going to bother with it. So - yes, you can get things restored, and the points come back with it. They will not, however, ever EVER tell you why it was deleted in the first place, and it may not be worth your bother.

It's not American at all.
The Alamo is as much a part of our history as Bull Run or the Boston Tea Party.
Appeal the violation.

It isn't American, nor should it be a "Violation" of YA. My guess is that there are people on YA who don't want to face the truth about Mexico. They don't say anything in YA about stating history is being a violation.
My guess is that you got on someone's nerve and they rebelled the only way that they can on YA.
EDIT: buenobruja, if an illegal kills an American, yes, it is an immigration issue because they are here illegally. It is the "Pro" illegal aliens who keep trying to call them immigrants. You can't have it both ways, dear.

You can challenge the violation, if you feel that you didn't violate the guidelines. Some people report things just because they disagree, not because they are true violations. There is a link at the top of your page about their new moderation measures, so that things wrongfully reported can be examined. Also, people found to be wrongfully reporting repeatedly can be penalized. Its worth reading - take a look at it.
Edit: The link to the new community moderation is on the answers home page.

Like someone said above your the latest victim of the power flagers. Supposedly Yahoo has a system now that will actually look into the person (or group) that flagged your question or answer so now those trigger happy report junkies who will flag any opinion that does not agree with their own, will themselves be under scrutiny..... We'll see what happens.

Linking anything that refers to the Mexican philosophy of Aztlan or any videos or magazines that promote it are also apparently violations. My question on Aztlan didn't even make it into the category before it was flagged and tagged. I am not sure if that is because it puts such a horrid light on a very large and popular movement or if it's because Yahoo doesn't want anyone to know that it's out there. Whatever the reason, it's being gagged...although it's battle-cry is often used as a tag-line by many on this forum.
The common term used to describe the offspring of illegal aliens that allow a family of aliens to become anchored into the benefit system is also taboo on yahoo.
Yahoo is based in California...what do you expect? Who do you think THEY employ? Who are THEIR family members?

It doesn't matter what the YAT's do to the "community guidlines", until they stop relying on bots and start relying on people it'll never change. Bot's look for words or phrases, they don't look for context in which it is used. In order to hire enough people to look at each question that someone reports on YA, would require more people than even Mexico could supply us.
