Why is Dick Durbin(D-Ill) trying to sneak the Dream Act in as a rider to the Defense Dept Appropriation Bill?

Are our Senators stupid enough to let this sneak by them?

For those who don't know, the so called "dream act" is another attempt at an amnesty bill. http://washingtontimes.com/article/20070919/EDITORIAL/109190001/1013 Although amnesty has been voted down, Dick Durbin has reintroduced it as a rider to the Defense Dept Appropriation Bill. Anyone who votes against it gets blamed for voting against "funding the troops". How is THAT for sneaky?

Stupid no, brazen yes, just think all you have to do is do community service after you break the law to be granted citizenship what a sweet dream for the illegals and a financial nightmare for the American tax payer. The three main ways the illegals came quality are 2 year from college or vocational school, 2 years military service, but my favorite one and the one that is the easy A for the illegals is 910 volunteer community service. Once again what a sweet deal for the illegals

Are our Senators that stupid? Yes, they got fooled by Bush & Co. into supporting the Iraq war.

As for why Durbin is trying to slip it in as a rider: Big Business wants it (which is why Hatch is supporting it as well).

Durbin isn't trying to sneak it into the appropriations bill, he has stated his intent on attaching it to the defense appropriations bills a number of times. The Defense department supports the Dream act as they believe it would help with recruiting.

There are a lot of misunderstandings in regards to the Dream Act, I do recommend that you read it before coming supporting or fighting the bill itself.

The Defense Approp bill has passed the House and is currently on the legislative calendar in the Senate.

Remember that ammendments are voted on seperatly from the bills itself.

They have been doing it for years - they just sneak in what they want on page 79,000 knowing no one will read the whole bill. It is where a lot of our bad legislation and pork come from.

Durbin (I did not vote for this jerk) is for giving our country away to the illegal criminal aliens. He and Obama are both the same along those lines.
