The industrial revolution was well underway before the start of the war. The war did move the industrial revolution ahead especially in the north where there actually was economic growth during the war even though most of the men were off fighting and the work was done by women and new machinery and that included both farming and industrial innovations .
The invention of the cotton gin was a turning point in the number of slaves needed (that was pre-war) because the number of slaves picking cotton had to be dramatically increased to supply the much faster method of cleaning the cotton with the gin.

After the war, with the boys back home and with the slaves free there was no shortage of labor. Crops were harvested with the same old methods by the same people except they weren't slaves any longer.

I don't see the deportation of illegal immigrants as an event that will produce a new industrial revolution or think it will have a dramatic effect on the economy (well, it will for the rich, just as it did for the slave owning plantation owners of the south).

But in the humanitarian sense I suppose one could make a case that by deporting them we free them from doing the jobs no one wants to do for very little pay.

We do have a lot of machines that harvest crops. Illegal Immigrants are not slaves, they are criminal border jumpers. Nothing is wrong with technology like automatic machines. Mexico is many years behind technology, and see what happened, they want to come over here, so I guess technology is not so bad after all. Now we need to send them all back to the country they love so much.

Studies show that there is a net economic LOSS from illegal immigration.

The whole issue of non-enforcement of our immigration policy is political: the Democrats (as socialists) want a permanent underclass to exploit for political power.

Slaves didn't get paid.
Illegals weren't stolen from their Country.
They work for money, live free, and can
keep their language.
Unlike Slaves, who had it beat out of them.
Blacks only know their Ancestors came
from Africa, but they don't know from WHERE in Africa.
What a Crime.
