I heard some people talking about this subject during my lunch break and some were like "Yes" they should because they are taking jobs from the citizens and the others were like "No" that's not fair, I want to know what you think.

If they pick the crops, let them in. When "harvest time" is over, boot their asses out! No Amnesty, No Anchor Babies, No In State Tuition.
We have plenty of "Guest Worker" Bills already. And they all assume that the "guest" eventually goes HOME!

Why should we pass a law? It's already a Federal law. This problem won't be solved by more laws. The coyotes that transport them over aren't going to say "Oh, I didn't know it was ILLEGAL to do this. Now that I know, I'll never do it again." and then never do it again.

Laws don't apply to the lawless.

And for a long time I thought - build a fence. It may not solve the problem, but it's a good start. Now, I don't know if that would work either. I recently asked a question about my new theory. Please check it out.

The federal government already has a similar law called the I9 form that all employers are supposed to complete to make sure they do not hire illegals. The law is being broken and selectively enforced.
It is fair that Texas pass their own law since we can't rely on the federal government.

There is already a law that says illegal immigrant should not work without proper documents. Its just that some people will employ them cause they will save money and pay them less for work done

There is already a law like that. The problem is enforcement.

I'm 50/50 on this particular question. Most illegal immigrants aren't criminal, bad, or WANT to take jobs from citizens like us, but they have no choice. How else are they going to support themselves? Should we really starve illegal immigrants, just because they were in pursuit of a better life? No, I don't think so.. and any other moral, compassionate person would agree with me.

What we really need to do is help the good, intelligent, moral immigrants become legal citizens. (It saddens me when I hear that people actually believe that all illegal immigrants are bad criminals. It's absolutely nowhere near the truth.)

Just because someone had to make the difficult decision to choose to come over illegally doesn't make them bad.. and especially for the children. The children never chose to come over illegally, so it's not fair to punish them when they get older and need a job to support themselves and their families.

.. I do agree that they should pay taxes and contribute to social security and everything. If we help them gather documents and become legal citizens, then they would pay taxes like the rest of us. It's not their fault that the Americans that are ignorant don't want to agree to help them become legal.

Well these illegal aliens would only have jobs that other people dont really want to do! sorry if i sound mean but thats cleaning up after all of us!! like cutting our grasses! and cleaning the streets. I think they should have some type of proper paper work in order to work in this country! since they arent here legally and if something happens to someone here who doesnt have any papers all the money that they saved up would just be taken from them!!! I think immigrants should try to get some type of paper work.

Yes, not only texas, but all states should. Without the proper paper work being filed they are working without having to pay taxes and contrubute to social security, welfare, etc. If they want to work in the U.S then they should do it legally like all of us Americans have to. Why should they be treated differently?

I dont think we should. We are better off closing down the border completely. Instead of wasting time and money on illegal immigrants that are just here to work, why not close the border and get rid of the real criminals, and then fix the problem we have intenally.

There's already a federal law that requires proof of citizenship or legal status. Unfortunately, it isn't enforced.
