Why don't they stay in their own country and rally for their rights instead of bringing all of their problems to the US? Why do they think that stealing from the US is acceptable?

So illegal immigration is supposedly a great economic good because it keeps prices down, but it's immoral to pay EI's the low wages which keep prices low, because it depresses wages more broadly, and it's unethical to pay a person below a living wage.

So, by that reasoning, are large corporations simultaneously good and bad, and does that mean small businesses should compete with large ones which supposedly are allready evil for trying to exist in small business areas, while also paying any illegal immigrants on their payroll living wages?

How is this supposed to work again?

President Teddy Roosevelt's 1919 quote:

"We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does, in good faith, become an American and assimilates himself to us. He shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin.

But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn't doing his part as an American.

There can be no divided allegiance here. . . We have room for but one language here and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty and that is loyalty to the American people."

Amen and Amen !!

Electric fence at the border, landmines, sharpshooter, sex offenders to have their way with whomever makes it across. Last I checked, wasn't MURDER a crime which we, by our own laws, classify as a FELONY?! Crossing the border is a misdemeanor. We scream & cry about these "criminals" among us yet we want to stop the misdemeanor with a felony. And this is about JUSTICE right? A law is a law is a law. Right? Your thoughts?

I'm very interested in the subject; especially with all the immigration bills in the news. One thing I don't understand is why immigrants don't just enter the US using the legal channels. It seems that if they did, they would not have to live on the margin of society and in hiding. Maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture? I'd love to hear other people's views and ideas on this; particularly from nationals living in the US illegally. Thanks!

Please support the American Dream Act!

It will give undocumented students the liberty to participate in the American Dream. It will help them attend college, and pursue the dreams that they have worked hard for. Many of these undocumented students were brought to America at an age where they had no authority over their lives. Now they have to suffer from the limitations that their immigration status brings upon them.

please call the people from the list below and ask them to support The Dream Act as well. Your call will make a difference.PLEASE CALL, AND CALL OFTEN. ASK YOUR FRIENDS TO CALL.LEAVE MESSAGES.CONGRESS COMES BACK FROM RECESS ON JULY 9! WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW.

I have arrived here and want to get married now. Is it possible for everything to be completed in only a few days or will it simply not be legal? This would be done through the humanist society of scotland, we have documents showing no legal-impediment, but arrived here without a VISA and want to do this right away.

Governor Janet Napolitano signed 29 of the bills and vetoed five. Included in the bills signed were three immigration bills, a bill regarding municipal sales tax incentives and a bill improving our air quality.

Among the bills signed today:

• Senate Bill 1552 -- Allows Arizona to clean its air and meet federal standards by the end of this year.

• House Bill 2515 --Ends the practice by cities of giving large tax breaks to businesses that choose to locate within their boundaries.

• SB 1265 --Courts must deny bail to persons charged with serious felonies when there is probably cause to believe they are in the country illegally.

• HB 2779 -- Imposes sanctions on employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

• HB 2467 --The bill requires individuals to show documentation of legal citizenship to receive state services, per the requirements of Proposition 200 passed by voters in 2006.

Jose hit my other neighbor (we'll call him Jerome) with a bat when he was confronted over something he stole then ran inside and locked the door..Jerome filed a police report it turns out the violent neighbor has a deportation notice. If they filed the report why haven't they come to pick him up? The landlord was informed about this and has not evicted him either??? What can I do I don't want my kids to see this violence and I don't feel I should move..He should be the one getting the steppin!

Same with Mexico... The USA won the Mexican-American war... doctrine monroe... Guadalupe Hidalgo Treaty...The USA controls Mexican economy... If the USA helps Mexico to have a sane and better economy Immigrants wouldn't need to emigrate ilegally!!!!!
besides that corruption exists in both sides....
So... as long as you refuse to understand that...you will keep being stuck in your own ignorance.
