Why is it harder for a born Mexican ( but has lived here since he was 6 months and is now 25 years-old) to become an American Citizen than it is for a 22 year-old Canadian who just moved here (and has never been here)?

I want to send a clear message (to democrats and republicans) that from now on they will pay a price for betraying the american people when it comes to illegal inmigration. And You? Are You planning something similar?

As a leader this president has shown he has no intention of protecting this country against illegals or drug dealers crossing into this country,if he feels his good friend Libby's prison sentence was too harsh for breaking the law and pardons him,why doesn't he have such compasion for our two border patrol agents now in prison for doing their job, which was to catch illegals, especially the ones that are bringing in drugs from mexico

This is getting out of control, I cannot believe how far this has gotten, I have been in this country since I was 3 years old, all I know is America, I dont even have a social security card! I am illegal! This is insane, I cant even get a job like this, I am not conceided but I am confident that I am capable of getting a great job since I am so good in accounting, college is even hard to get into 190 per unit vs. 20 per unit for someone who is legal is not fair! I cant even speak spanish correctly, it is not fair, I need a social security card so I can get a decent job and help support myself, Im not here to steal, kill or commit crimes, all I want is to work, and make myself a better person as well as this country, HELP! What can I do, I really donot want to marry I am too young, you'd be surprised, I am 19, this is crazy!

Not the issues surrounding the bill, but the people involved. Is it them working for low wages? Is it the fact that they are breaking the law? Be candid and respectful, of course. I want to get to the heart of the issue, I want true opinions. What makes you angry? Give one reason, or three reasons, or ten. If it doesn't anger you...tell me that too.

Three dozen Southern California high school and college students wearing caps and gowns launched a hunger strike Monday to call for a path to citizenship for illegal immigrant students.

Vowing not to eat and only drink water until Monday, the group launched its campaign at the offices of Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Santa Ana) and plan to protest at the offices of representatives in Pasadena, Bakersfield, San Jose and San Francisco.

The protesters — including graduates and students of UCLA and UC Irvine — say they were illegally brought into the United States as children by their parents. They held signs with messages such as "I Want to Be a Lawyer" and "Bachelor Degree of Science in Chemistry."

EL PASO, Texas — A Border Patrol agent shot a migrant who was crossing illegally into the U.S. through a drainage tunnel early Tuesday, the U.S. Border Patrol said.

The agent, who was not identified, encountered a group of people in the tunnel around 12:30 a.m. The actions of a migrant who approached him prompted the agent to draw his weapon and fire, the Border Patrol said in a news release.

The single bullet fired stuck the migrant in the left arm. He was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury, according to the Border Patrol statement.

The Mexican Consulate was notified about the incident. El Paso Police, the Border Patrol Sector Evidence Team, and the FBI will conduct independent investigations. They are looking at what caused the agent to fire, said Doug Mosier, a spokesman for the Border Patrol in El Paso.

The agent involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative duty pending outcome of the investigation, the Border Patrol said.

Here's the way the story SHOULD have read:
"EL PASO, Texas — A Border Patrol agent shot an illegal alien drug-running "coyote" who was crossing illegally into the U.S. through a drainage tunnel early Tuesday, the U.S. Border Patrol said.

The agent, who was not identified, encountered a group of people in the tunnel around 12:30 a.m. The life-threatening actions of a migrant who approached him prompted the agent to draw his weapon and fire, the Border Patrol said in a news release.

The single bullet fired stuck the illegal alien drug-running coyote in center mass. He was transported to the morgue, according to the Border Patrol statement.

The Mexican Consulate was notified about the incident. El Paso Police, the Border Patrol Sector Evidence Team, and the FBI will award the agent with meritorious citations. They are looking at the increasing danger faced by BP agents, said Doug Mosier, a spokesman for the Border Patrol in El Paso.

The agent involved in the shooting will be given an extra couple of days off, the Border Patrol said."

Thats right, SEVEN: 1. In 1986, Ted Kennedy’s blanket amnesty for 2.7 million illegal aliens promised a lot more enforcement but did not set any requirments for actual reductions in illegal immigration. The illegal flow continued.

2. In 1994, Ted Kennedy’s Section 245(i) Amnesty gave legal residence and jobs to 578,000 illegal aliens. It was a temporary rolling amnesty primarily for extended family members of immigrants who instead of waiting in line, come on to the country illegally. The illegal flow continued.

3. In 1997, Ted Kennedy’s extension of the Section 245(i) rolling amnesty was followed by an increasing flow of illegal immigration.

4. In 1997, Ted Kennedy also won an amnesty for close to one million illegal aliens from Central America. Illegal immigration sped up some more.

5. In 1998, Ted Kennedy won an amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti. The illegal flow continued.

6. In 2000, Ted Kennedy got the so-called Late Amnesty, legalizing another 400,000 illegal aliens who claimed that they missed out on Kennedy’s 1986 amnesty. Illegal immigration continued unimpeded.

7. In 2000, Ted Kennedy also won the LIFE Act Amnesty for an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. It was another reinstatement of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty., an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. Illegal immigration accelerated.

Now, Ted Kennedy is saying that this amnesty is necessary if we are ever to stop the flow of illegal aliens. Why would any of these Senators believe him when he says this amnesty bill will end illegal immigration with a track record like his?

Republican presidential contender Tom Tancredo on Monday said "it's not impossible" to deport the estimated 12 million immigrants living in the United States illegally.

Such action would take years and would be difficult but could be accomplished, he said.

The Colorado congressman, however, argued that tougher border security and a crackdown on employers would reduce the need for mass deportations and encourage such immigrants to return to their native countries willingly.

"It's attrition through enforcement," he said.

Tancredo described his views on illegal immigration and other issues during a meeting with Des Moines Register editors and reporters.

Illegal immigration is the cornerstone of Tancredo's bid for the presidency - it's an issue he described as a "clash of civilizations."

He said illegal immigration and a lack of assimilation among immigrants here legally threaten the United States nationally and globally.

"I think we are the last, best hope of Western civilization," he said.

Tancredo said legal immigration should be curbed at 250,000 people per year to ensure proper assimilation. More than 700,000 were granted U.S. citizenship in 2006, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Tancredo said that people who describe him as xenophobic are wrong and that he fully supports diversity.

He cited his Italian heritage and its importance to him and his family as examples of his respect for ethnic and cultural identity. Tancredo's elders always stressed the importance of assimilation into American culture, he said.

"You can't have diversity as the only national character," he said. " ... You need something that holds us together."

His remarks came on the tail end of a weekend campaign swing through Iowa.
Illegal invaders go home. Legal immigrants assimilate. Tancredo is right - you absolutely can deport 12 million criminals. Build the wall. Cut off the social aid. Punish employers. Stop educating their illegal spawn. Deport people you catch - the rest will go home. Without free social services or work - they would be forced to leave.

I am trying to find out if the lawn services, nannies, maids, cleaning services and such are licensed or registered so that the government can collect their taxes? Where can I verify the companies in my area to make sure that they are paying their taxes or are doing business legally?

I am looking for a link to a site that enables me look up a business to see if it is licensed or registered with my state. I'm in Illinois. I don't see a list of these services in the state list of licensed businesses.
