I am trying to find out if the lawn services, nannies, maids, cleaning services and such are licensed or registered so that the government can collect their taxes? Where can I verify the companies in my area to make sure that they are paying their taxes or are doing business legally?

I am looking for a link to a site that enables me look up a business to see if it is licensed or registered with my state. I'm in Illinois. I don't see a list of these services in the state list of licensed businesses.

It seems that the legal citizens are questioned if they are providing services for pay and not licensed - but if they're Hispanic, they don't have to follow the law.

Why is our government at every level ignoring the rights of the USA citizens by not enforcing the laws for everyone? Isn't this discrimination?

How many of you across our great nation have seen Hispanics working and not paying back into our government - yet they use our government benefits that are not theirs to use.

Licenses of those nature are usually issued at the county and city levels. Contact Clerk of Courts for your county and see if they are required to hold a business license and if bonds are requisite or not and what criteria the State requires. Oftentimes, the State governs, but the city or county level enforces. Other times the State agency is not involved at all, and counties hold the certificates. In NC, most services that have a 'danger' aspect must have a license, and usually Workman's comp insurance and or liability insurance--which is dictated by the State.
Not a difficult thing to find out. Call Clerks of Court until you find the answers. good luck.

Check with the city or locality in your area. There should be a list or a website where you can go online and pull up who is licensed. All businesses have to have a business license or permit. The nannies may also be regulated by the state as they involve care of an individual or individuals.

Yes they are but enforcement is not. Unless some 1 complains. And there is only a warning? It's a shame we have to be licensed have to be insured they don't. Why has the Gov An cities sold the Citizens out. O i forgot they are the one that hire them.

If you are applying feed to your own lawn you do not need a licence. Anyone applying chemicals to anywhere that is not their own does need a licence. This law came into force in the early 1980's.
