Electric fence at the border, landmines, sharpshooter, sex offenders to have their way with whomever makes it across. Last I checked, wasn't MURDER a crime which we, by our own laws, classify as a FELONY?! Crossing the border is a misdemeanor. We scream & cry about these "criminals" among us yet we want to stop the misdemeanor with a felony. And this is about JUSTICE right? A law is a law is a law. Right? Your thoughts?

I'm actually referring to several DIFFERENT posts I've seen here over the course of the last few months from several different people. What I'm NOT seeing tonight is an explanation of how we justify this "logic." What's sad is seeing some come to the defense of these would-be murderers all in the name of justice.

This makes as much sense as saying it's ok to shoot someone for jaywalking. It's also a misdemeanor.

Or speeding. I'm sure NONE of us are guilty of that, right?

I am totally against the sex offender idea, the best thing to do with a child molester is strap him to a chair and let the mother at him with lots of sharp objects.
As far a the other ideas, I am all for them and this is not sarcasm.
You pro's can call it racism, biggotry, or whatever.
I call it an invasion by a hostile force. We see the rallies, we hear the speechs, and right here on Y/A we see the racism from La Raza, and th Aztlan delusionals.
The act of coming here is a misdomeanor. The intent to take part of the country, the encouragement of civil disobedience, threats to shut down the government and bring the economy to it's knees, the threats to take over the country or run us back to Europe; These are all declarations of war to me.
As the proponants of these things are declaring war on the U.S., these actions are not murder but self-defense.
There is no way to tell who is an enemy or just an immigrant looking for a break; so the assumption by many is, come legally, we have a place for you, sneak in under cover in violation of our laws, you must be an enemy and a member of the invading force.

Yes i see your point. Many people feel that being here as an illegal is a bigger crime then people being killed. I don't get that one. Go figure, we live in a generation of murderers I guess? Makes it kind of scary to walk around thinking if I were an illegal I'd probably have the crap kicked out of me or be shot by someone who was really against it. Not for selling drugs or committing hate crimes or something worse but for just being here to better a life.

Everyone is so caught up with, "this is my land, this is MY COUNTRY". That is fine that one is proud to be an American, but wasn't it built off the backs of immigrants all that immigrated from Europe. The only natural Americans are Native Americans and those descendants of the Mayans who remained after all the tragedy of all the land and wars that incurred here.

So sad that this is the view of people. They frown on anyone who looks different. That someone who looks different may be richer and better educated then you may be. So people should think twice before they judge.

Good question... one star from me!

Well technically unless they crossed into America it would not be murder under the laws of America. I don't agree with those people, however I do think we should have a fence, a secure border. That will help Mexico retain it's laborer population. A win-win for both country's.

A Law is a Law...that's correct, unless we "offend" someone.
I like George Carlin's view on this issue. "Give every illegal and gun, a canteen and some ammo. Send them to Iraq, and let them earn their citizenship by fighting for this country. Put our troops on Border Patrol, here at home. I f the illegals don't want to earn their citizenship, send them to Iraq, give them an empty gun and a canteen. Problem solved. Free up 41 million illegals, save gas, food and real estate.

I see no irony. I am all for the justice for all theme really. Lets all just enforce current laws and EVERYONE follow them and all the consequences that come along with it for breaking the law.

We don't need to use violence, just round 'em up and ship 'em back to where they came from. Close our borders, and do it now. Build the wall, walls do work, ever see the Berlin wall?, lots of guns and dogs, very little crossing. If we would enforce our current laws, there would be no reason for this discussion.

You make some good points based on some (actually many) of the comments I've come across on this site ... people who said they were conservatives recommending just what you've listed above there.

If these answers are jokes, then they are damaging, perhaps even dangerious. People who read these sites can't tell that they're jokes, and people from other countries can't tell. They form their opinions about what Americans think based on what they read and hear. People will react negatively to blatant disrespect because it's human to do so.

I think some of them are joking. Most of them are angry and frustrated that no one is doing anything about cheap, illegal slave labor. I don't think anyone actually wants a police state, communist Berlin wall like military fortress at our southern border. And an electric fence isn't even "criminal!"

I never proposed any such thing.

I also am sure that if those spouting frustration by saying those things had the right to say if they'd be implemented, they'd say no.

What they/we are sick of is not having any say at all, in our own country, about enforcement of our own laws, designed to protect our own schools, hospitals, services and jobs.

Some people have demonstrably broken the law. Others are talking about it.

You seem to find no problem with the first but find the second intollerable. I find that interesting.
